✨ RITUALS OF TRANSITIONS ✨ The closing of the bones is an ancient ritual that is practiced in various parts of the world. It is usually performed during the postpartum stage, helping the body and soul to return to their place after the intense experience of great amplitude of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum process. The closing ritual (la cerrada) can take on different forms involving the use of a rebozo. Some rituals focus solely on the practice of closing the body with the rebozo, while others begin with a bath with herbs, followed by a massage to realign the uterus and organs, and finally a full-body massage by hand and using the rebozo to press the body. The rebozo is used as an extension of the hands, to tighten the body in energy centers such as the head and navel, as well as to tighten the bones and muscles of our bodies. This ritual works on the physical, emotional, and spiritual plane and can be a transformative experience that marks a before and after in the process of accommodating a person's experiences, letting go, and opening space for new beginnings. Our Striped, Calendula, Black Diamond, Desierto, and Metate Rebozos are beautifully piled up, awaiting their use in a closing-the-bones ceremony. 💙 The closing-the-bones ceremony or so-called "cerrada" serves as a deep rite of passage and marks the ending of a chapter. Besides being held in postpartum, it can be applied after a miscarriage, for a fertility treatment or to mark other important changes or events. 👉🏽 This rite of passage is for all people, not only women. Men and children also benefit tremendously when treated.
