As I reflect on my role as a wife, I think about the timeless wisdom found in Proverbs 31. The virtuous woman described there is a model of strength, wisdom, and grace - qualities I deeply desire to embody in my own marriage and life. Yet striving to be a Proverbs 31 wife in today's world comes with its own unique challenges. The world tells us that true fulfilment comes from career success, independence, and having it all. But God's design for marriage and womanhood is so much richer. It's not always easy to swim against the cultural tide. There are days when I struggle with feelings of inadequacy, when I wonder if I'm measuring up. When I long for more "me time" and less household drudgery. But in those moments, I'm reminded that my worth is not found in my performance, but in Christ's love for me. I'm learning to find joy in the everyday tasks of homemaking, to speak words of life to my husband, to trust God's plan even when it doesn't make sense. Being a Proverbs 31 wife is a high calling, but it's also a beautiful one. To have the privilege of helping to shape the next generation, to be a helpmeet to my husband, to make our house a haven of love and peace - these are gifts beyond measure. Continue in comments...

I love compliments; they hold deep meaning, as well as thoughts and desires of another person. “Your shoes are beautiful” - they are beautiful, I want a pair like that, and admiration for your uniqueness. “Your eyes are beautiful” - clearly admiration. One of my favorites: “Your collarbones are beautiful” - again, admiration, no less. But I wish someone would say, “Your thoughts are beautiful” or “I love your kindness,” rather than focusing on legs, ears, or tails… When visual effects are valued less than our uniqueness, individuality, and imperfections… When we women become merely visible objects, ready for tuning: we seek eyelashes, nails, breasts, and buttocks to compare our beauty to some standard, to be evaluated and recognized. When did it happen that we became less and not more beautiful for ourselves? I want to tell each of us that we don’t need courses on how to enhance our femininity, find the goddess within ourselves, or do five hundred exercises in bed to satisfy a partner.
