We are excited to announce the upcoming book ‘Narcissystem’ by experimental poet Nick Montfort @doc_mofo. Available for preorder in the Anteism shop. There’s a term in programming for the ability of running code to examine its own structure: Reflection. The short computer program at the core of Narcissystem does nothing but gaze at its image lovingly. Its output, a complete description of itself down to the level of bits—of zeroes and ones—is presented in this book as a beautiful material text, a tribute to how computer programs and poems, although they have the power to do much more, are often pathologically self-centered. Istanbul! I am packing for you with giddy fingers. Bored Wolves returns to Istanbul this upcoming week @border_lessartbookdays @yapikredikultursanat Friday–Sunday May 3–5. I @stefan6bpencil will be there in person together with Bored Wolves poet @selcanpeksan whose “There Is a Cave” is in the BW development pipeline (poetry in these pipes). I’ll be bringing our entire catalogue, including fresh editions by @allie.j.rigby @juliaedithrigby @alexandrakera @simon.moreton @karolinibielawska @pawel_olszczynski and archival copies of currently out-of-print titles by @tamarapekala @secilkoman @efemurad @rossiter85 @hkorpak @maike_hemmers & #MisaAsanuma Last year we were represented by our dear collaborators @aycaykarsu @cansbittabi (translators of #SevinçÇalhanoğlu “A Promenade at Home”; running our table superbly in pics 1 and 2, respectively) and their dispatches were so vicariously affirming that I decided I had to pack a rucksack and a trunk of books and be there myself this time around. I look forward to meeting so many of you who have reached out over the seasons and tracked down our titles in Turkey. This is maybe for another post, but Istanbul and its poets / those poets and their Istanbul, have been at the very core of Bored Wolves since we began growing, together, in 2021. I’m tabling at a zine & print fair in Willits on Saturday so I reprinted a few zines including “Dark Magic Bros”. I still have to staple and collate this little dude. It’s a lot of reentry red. Willits is a “city” in inland Mendocino. Its population is 4,500 so it’ll probably be a small turnout. But it’s somewhere else to go, I guess. And it’s good to do some local art stuff. If you want a copy of this zine I posted it online in my shop. Also updated the shop with a few new stickers.
