A story of hope and resilience and a forever life for two individuals who find themselves in the most unwanted circumstances. Now, while the story itself was beautiful, I failed to develop a connection with the characters, mainly because of the writing. It was mostly like "he did this'" "she did that". Whether it was a brutal torture scene or something as beautiful as lovemaking, it was described in merely two short sentences. I really wanted to feel something for the characters but the lack of emotion in the writing did not work for me. Overall, it was a good read. Ésta vida cotidiana incluye el formato estricto de lo que debe ser una dama y una mujer en general y es justo aquí, donde radica el mensaje que parece tan actual. Calpurnia descubre su inquietud y curiosidad, no por la vida mundana y social a la que podría estar destinada, sino por la naturaleza. De la mano de su abuelo, quién es un militar retirado, descubre una vocación poco común y además comienza a ver la suerte que esa vocación le depara. Y llegando al desenlace, ¡¡qué difícil lograr un final digno!! . 📚💜De eso se trata esta novela juvenil, dinámica y de fácil lectura, aunque no por eso carente de una inteligencia exquisita. the year of the returning to old favourites. I woke up at 3am the other morning, as my stubborn baby wouldn’t go back to sleep & found myself scrolling on here (classic) coming across @jonathangolding_books post about his reflections on his year of reading so far & the topic of rereads. I love revisiting a book, it’s equal parts comforting like returning to your favourite tv program or film as well as a reminder of a book that made me go ‘that’s it, that’s why I love reading’. I started reflecting on why I hadn’t reread as many books in the last 2 years when i use to return to favourites quite regularly & I think I came to the realisation it’s because of my consumption. I read reviews on here about books that intrigue me, they then go on a infinitely lost list that gets added to almost daily so when I go to book fairs or thrift shops I rarely come away empty handed. even though in my head it might just be adding ‘one’ to the pile, the pile gets added on frequently. when the urge to reread a book comes about, I feel guilty about not making the most of my time since reading has gotten significantly slower now, averaging 2 books a month, so I push forward with picking up a new book to conquer my tbr pile leaving my favourites behind. this year I decided not to do a 20 or 24 list but instead posted my entire book collection (as of the beginning of the year) stating I wanted to read every book I owned which included books I’ve already read (I only keep books I’ve read & loved). so here’s three of my favourite books I want to reread this year and one I’ve already started reading - exception by anna hope.

But seriously aren’t these endpapers awesome? I know I love Dan and Phil but can we please just take a moment to appreciate the custom end papers they have in their book????? The detail! The passion! I spent many an hour almost 10 years ago when this book came out scouring these end papers and drinking in every single little detail they had to offer. QOTD: Do you like when books have interesting endpapers? AOTD: I love when publishers do this! Whether it’s a paper back that has a cool print, or a hard back that has an interesting colour I appreciate all the small details that make a book special and unique.

Seria ,, Rywalki " autorstwa Kiery Cass [ RECENZJA ] 𝟑𝟓 𝒅𝒛𝒊𝒆𝒘𝒄𝒛𝒚𝒏. 𝑱𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒂 𝒌𝒐𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒂. Q: Czytaliście książkę z motywem królewskim? Po przeczytaniu całej serii zapragnęłam ekranizacji. To by było coś! Połączenie romansu, rywalizacji, korony, wystawnych bali organizowanych przez same rywalki i pięknych sukien to strzał w dziesiątkę. Bardzo podobał mi się pomysł iż bohaterowie żyli według wieloletniego podziału klas, to było dla mnie coś nowego. Widziałam że wiele osób czepiało się głównej bohaterki Americi że jest niezdecydowana, ma zbyt duże wahania nastroju, co ona wyprawia i jak tak w ogóle można. Ja nabrałam dla jej postaci jak i jej wyborów dużego zrozumienia i sama w jej sytuacji prawdopodobnie postąpiła bym podobnie. Z jednej strony od dłuższego czasu układasz sobie z kimś plan na życie, jesteś szczęśliwa i pewna swojej przyszłości i nagle bam - wlatuje książę Maxon, rywalizacja, szansa na pomoc swojej rodzinie i nie tylko. No do głowy można dostać, przysięgam. Bardzo polubiłam głównych bohaterów, drugoplanowe postaci takie jak np Marlee, Lucy, Mary lub Anne jeszcze bardziej. Co do ,, Następczyni " i ,, Korony " gdzie akcją toczy się dalej a główną bohaterką zostaje chłodna i wyniosła Eadlyn - to było świetne! Jedynie nie poznaje tu Americi. Jak dla mnie jej charakter zmienił się i to w negatywnym kierunku. Zakończenie było lekko zaskakujące. Brałam pod uwagę 3 kandydatów z którymi Eadlyn mogła by mieć swój happy end ale aż do końca nie byłam pewna kto to może być. Między tą 4 non stop coś się działo. Świetnie się bawiłam, było romantycznie, śmiesznie, czasem płaczliwie, zatrważająco a przede wszystkim moje oczekiwania zostały spełnione. Nie daruje autorce pewnych wydarzeń w skutek czego moje serce krwawi po dziś dzień 💔. No puedo explicar todas las emociones que sentí mientras leía este libro, pero sin duda, lo que más me hizo sentir fue el final de la historia… Sobre todo las últimas palabras de mi villano favorito, Evan. 🗡️ Sinceramente, la manera en la que comenzó la historia me sorprendió, porque no esperaba que la continuación de los primeros dos libros fuera de esa manera, sin embargo, fue maravilloso. La historia, los personajes, la trama, las criaturas. Todo, absolutamente todo fue maravilloso. 🗡️ El desarrollo de los personajes es muy notable y lindo. Morgana dejó de ser una princesa caprichosa e impulsiva, Destan al fin aceptó lo que era, Titania se convirtió en la Reina que estaba destinada a ser y Evan, al fin aceptó el amor y todo lo que venía con el. 🗡️ Con respecto a la trama, es sorprende. El mundo de fantasía se desarrolla de una manera única, con cada reino, cada personajes y cada dios. Las escenas románticas, la tensión entre lo protagonistas y las escenas en batalla, son totalmente increíbles, están muy bien escritas, tanto, que te hacen sentir como si estuvieras dentro de la historia. 🗡️ Siento que fue un final digno, cada acontecimiento de la historia llevó a todos los personajes al lugar indicado y a tomar las decisiones correctas. Fue muy bonito leer como cada personaje se esmeraba en no cometer los mismos errores del pasado, en ser mejores personas, en madurar, aprender, escuchar y amar, libremente. 🗡️ Despedirme de los personajes no fue fácil, tampoco decirle adiós a la trilogía entera, tuve muchas emociones con el párrafo final del epílogo (narrado por Evan). Me encantó complemente el final. Y más porque nos deja con la probabilidad de una continuación para la historia y estaría encantada, y muy feliz de seguir leyendo más de este mundo.

I fell in love with both Eriu and Devlin from the very beginning of this book. Eriu is so open, honest, raw, and real which instantly made me feel for her and the situations she finds herself in. Devlin is the ultimate broody, possessive, and dangerous boyfriend but he also has such a vulnerable and broken side you just can’t help but fall in love with him. Some of his lines in this story are the absolute sweetest I’ve ever read. This book is filled with danger and twists and turns you won’t see coming. Så er det dags for siste bok ut i forbindelse med #verdensbokdag her i mitt lille bokhjørne, nemlig Spøkelsesstasjonen av Anne Elvedal. Anne synes jeg virkelig skriver drivende gode grøssere. Debutromanen hennes får ennå hårene til å reise seg på armene mine når jeg tenker på den. 🫣 Spøkelsesstasjonen er hennes første roman for mellomtrinnet. Den er illustrert med dunkle og vakre tegninger av Hedda Kverndalen. Allerede fra første setning var jeg hektet, jeg mener, når du starter en bok med denne setningen: «Alt begynte med at lillebroren min spiste et fuglehode.» vel da bare vet man at det blir bra på den skumle måten. 🤩 Men Spøkelsesstasjonen er noe mer enn bare en grøsser. Det er noe sårt i den. Et savn etter en sjelevenn. Og på slutten gråt jeg. Virkelig hulket. For det var så trist. Bare hør her: «Så brast han i gråt. Jeg holdt armene mine rundt ham. Han holdt armene sine rundt meg. Han gråt, og jeg gråt. For alt vi hadde opplevd sammen. For alt vi ikke ville få oppleve sammen. Og himmelen, trærne, fuglene, paddene, de gråt alle sammen med oss.» 💔 Anbefaler denne varmt til alle som liker grøss og som kanskje aldri har hatt en sjelevenn. I denne romanen står alt på spill. Murtagh 🐉 🇫🇷 Murtagh est toujours considéré comme un traître, 20ans après les dernières aventures en Alagaësia. Murtagh est certainement l'un de mes personnages favoris et j'ai adoré voir plus en profondeur sa relation avec Thorn. J'ai même été agréablement surprise de constater que le jeune dragon avait beaucoup d'humour...un humour à la dragon bien entendu ! Pour tous les fans de la saga, vous pouvez foncer les yeux fermés, vous serez ravis de replonger dans ce monde fantastique. Murtagh 🐉 🇬🇧 Murtagh is still a traitor to everyone since their last adventures in Alagaësia. Eragon and Nasuada are the only ones to know the truth. J’ai trouvé ce jeune policier sympathique. Il arrive dans la petite ville de Siglufjördur pour son premier poste. Il va enquêter sur 2 meurtres, qui a priori n’ont rien à voir l’un avec l’autre. Il devra démêler le vrai du faux au milieu de cette ville où tout le monde se connaît. Ambiance neigeuse et froide garantie dans cet endroit isolé du nord de l’Islande! J’avoue que depuis que j’en entend parler, je m’attendais à plus de « waouh ». J’ai trouvé l’histoire sympathique mais voilà quoi, pas sûre de continuer cette série 🤷♀️! Et toi tu l’as lu? Aquesta novel·la sobre l'amor, està plena de disseccions i reflexions així que no us espereu pas que sigui una lectura lleugera. La Jeanette Winterson és una escriptora que m'encanta, admiro la seva capacitat per escriure sobre els sentiments i les emocions i per anar més enllà o més endins, segons com es vulgui veure. Que la traducció sigui de la Bel Olid, la fa doblement bona, perquè ha permès que els detalls lligats al gènere de qui narra la història no s'hagin desvirtuat en passar de l'anglès al català: no pots arribar a saber si es tracta d'un home o d'una dona. La novel·la comença interpel·lant-nos a lo bèstia: "Per què és la pèrdua la mesura de l'amor?" I dues-centes pàgines després, planteja la pregunta flosòfica final: "Així, que mata l'amor? Entre una i l'altre encara n'apareixen més per donar cos a una història d'amor i passió, en la que no és necessari emmirallar-se, però que troba llocs comuns fent que la recerca de respostes sigui tant de qui narra com de qui llegeix: No està ple l'amor d'interrogants i de dubtes? Estimar és per a gent valenta.
