"Analogia perfecta" Aquesta va ser una de les propostes finalistes al concurs de l'etiqueta del Vi Novell del @cellermasroig La identitat de la gràfica es basa en la bellesa de l'acte de fermentació. El disseny conté dibuixada la fórmula química de la fermentació alcohòlica, des d'una mirada informal i buscant la iconicitat de l'etiqueta. Es mantenen també alguns elements de les propostes d'anyades anteriors realitzades per @atipus , així com explorar una temàtica que fins ara no s'havia tractat. Com a tret destacat, l'etiqueta "reacciona" simbolitzant l'energia que es produeix en la reacció on els sucres del raïm es converteixen en alcohol. Així doncs, l'etiqueta canvia la seva aparença (de forma reversible) segons la temperatura a la qual es trobi l'ampolla, gràcies a la impressió amb l'ús de tintes termo cromàtiques. This creature profoundly changed my life! Hudson put three of my drawings in a group exhibition at his gallery Feature Inc. which was my first exhibition after college (a huge honor). Seeing the work for the first time, he giggled, perceiving one drawing as "looking like a peeled grapefruit wearing a crotchless panty." He then told me, "I'm going to be honest with you, this is going to be a tough sell." And all the work sold (everlasting thank yous to collector Norman Dubrow). This gave me the needed confidence that I could pull this off, plus money to help me move to NYC. In Italy, the primary school textbook is called a "sussidiario." It complements the reading book and the teacher's instruction in various subjects. The term "sussidiario" is better known as an adjective. It comes from the Latin "subsidiarius," derived from "subsidium," and can be simply translated into English as "subsidiary". It signifies additional, auxiliary, complementary, or supplementary, supportive, helpful, and sustaining. This weekend AVARIE has realized that every book, ultimately, is a "sussidiario," both as a noun and as an adjective. It helps you be where you are not. It moves at your place. Sadly AVARIE is not in New York this weekend for the @printedmatter_artbookfairs; our books are. And this wouldn't have been possible without the assistance of @10x10photobooks, particularly Russet Lederman @russetnyc, who had the great idea to showcase six women publishers unable to attend, thereby becoming a precious "sussidiaria" herself. I’ll be bringing our entire catalogue, including fresh editions by @allie.j.rigby @juliaedithrigby @alexandrakera @simon.moreton @karolinibielawska @pawel_olszczynski and archival copies of currently out-of-print titles by @tamarapekala @secilkoman @efemurad @rossiter85 @hkorpak @maike_hemmers & #MisaAsanuma Last year we were represented by our dear collaborators @aycaykarsu @cansbittabi (translators of #SevinçÇalhanoğlu “A Promenade at Home”; running our table superbly in pics 1 and 2, respectively) and their dispatches were so vicariously affirming that I decided I had to pack a rucksack and a trunk of books and be there myself this time around. I look forward to meeting so many of you who have reached out over the seasons and tracked down our titles in Turkey.
