Hey! We had an error posting last week's History Friday and it's one you don't want to miss. So here it is, on Tuesday. . This week we have a picture of Electric Avenue in Bigfork, Montana, with a 116-year time difference. Just before Bigfork was officially established, a hydro-electric plant was built in 1889, close to where Sliter Park is today. Water from the Swan River was diverted to spin the electric turbines and produce electricity. Locals then called the Main Street of Bigfork, "Electric Avenue", to reference the power plant that improved their quality of life. While 90% of rural America was still using gas flames and coal oil lamps, Bigfork was successfully keeping up with the times. . Allow me to introduce you to the 24.1 BCCF CrossFit Open Intramurals MVP and nomination for the #goldenbarbellaward ! In addition to leading one of our Open intramurals teams, @rachell.k was also noticed because of how she killed the Rx workout (📸evidence). Others mentioned how she worked out, judged other heats, and cheered everyone on. The CrossFit Open can be a little intimidating if you’re new to CrossFit. Having a judge who holds you to the standard is important, but so is having a good time (so maybe her pajamas for the PJ party theme really helped her in this case!). This is Rachell’s second CrossFit Open, and so far she has shown up fully prepared for the weekly theme, potluck, all of the high fives and cheers… AND the stamina to complete 24.1 under the timecap.
