I was a victim of many fad exercise programs and fad diets back in the day (hello Insanity and Paleo). Since I became a certified health coach, I’ve learned fitness and nutrition don’t have to be complicated. There are five things that I no longer do as a health coach and personal trainer, especially now that I’m a busy, working mom: 1. Work out 7 days a week. Rest days are so so so important and are what your body needs. I aim to rest two days each week. 2. Diet. I say no to Paleo, Keto, etc etc. I started eating intuitively a few years ago, and without food rules, I’ve maintained my weight while eating the foods I enjoy. 3. Do only cardio. I was a cardio QUEEN back in the day. While I still enjoy cardio workouts, I’ve seen more progress in incorporating strength training into my routine. And not just any strength training, but lifting HEAVY. 4. Let the scale define me. While the number on the scale determined my wealth and feelings in my 20s, I now know that the number on the scale isn’t the best indicator of progress. Instead, I look at nonscale victories: how clothes fit, energy, etc. 5. Rely on a quick fix. Especially with postpartum fitness, it took nine months to gain that weight. It’s not all going to come off in a month. Slow and steady wins the race, and that weight will more likely stay off in the long run. Which one resonates with you? #ClientDiaries Thank you!! I am so extremely thankful for you and your program! March went way better than I thought, I really was hesitant on weighing/tracking food because in the past I go backwards when I “diet”. This was way different!The way you explained what to eat and how to hit the macros was so helpful!!! I eat more than I could imagine, I still live my life and enjoy the weekend with the family while giving my body what it needs. The workouts are incredible, you kick my butt everyday in 30 minutes and it’s not boring haha I can honestly say I feel like I’m a better person with my mood and energy. I thank God I saw your program on instagram. I can’t say thank you enough for what you do! Personally where I am in their journey is yes it’s challenging but it’s been the best thing for me. I am so proud that I’ve stuck with the tracking/ eating portion and have seen a huge difference in my body. I don’t think this month is going to be as big as a physical transformation as last month, but I’ve really changed my perspective of it being 100% physical because the mental part has been just as big as a transformation, my overall mood and energy is incredible (sorry if I keep saying that over and over). Also I am seeing changes in the workouts with increased weight or ability to do certain things. For example, when I started I could barely do 2 push ups on my own, and this last week I did 12 during one of the workouts (they weren’t the prettiest towards end but I did them haha). The workout part for me was the easiest part (not saying they aren’t hard just easy to get motivated to do) of this because I really enjoy the way you do the workouts, it’s 30 minutes of kicking butt and it’s not boring. All in all, I feel like I can definitely see and feel a difference in what changes I’ve made and been doing. I’m sure I could be more strict with eating on the weekends, but I’m looking at this as a life change and it’s helped me stick with it and make this a life change not just a temporary fix. 6 months ago this was the picture that changed my mind set. I still remember looking at this picture and not recognizing the woman in the picture. I sent this to my daughter’s, “I’m done! I never want to look like this again!” January 1, 2024 I started my journey. I began being intentional with my food. I worked hard to gain self control and discipline in what I ate. April 2024 I began getting to the gym. I am still working on my consistency in my workouts and increasing the number of workouts throughout my week. But here I am wearing the same size shirt, down almost 25#!! I feel great and have so much more energy. many of us become mothers thinking they the only way to be a “good” mom is to sacrifice everything and put your own needs last. but what if I don’t you that doesn’t actually make you a good mom? 📎save this post to come back to for some easy self care ideas! I’m not saying that your child’s needs don’t matter, but I am saying that your needs DO! it’s really easy to fall into a pattern of not taking care of yourself, skipping meals, and never making time to do anything that lights you up. before I go on, I have to say being a mom is my greatest joy. even in the hardest moments I love being my daughter’s mom. but- loving being a mom doesn’t have to be synonymous with being a martyr. the thing is, if you don’t prioritize your own needs as a mom, it’s easy to become nutritionally depleted, run down, exhausted, and just not feel like yourself. when you prioritize yourself, you’re also prioritizing your kids! by taking care of your own needs, you’re able to show up as the mom you WANT to be. the fun mom, the creative mom, the last-minute-adventure mom. when you say yes to meeting your own needs, you’re also giving your kids a great example of how to live. I’m a single mom, I’m also an NTP and CNC specializing in nutrition for moms and babies. here’s a few ways you can practice being selfish that will benefit you and your kids: ☀️get outdoors every day, even if it’s only 10 minutes ☀️eat breakfast!! ☀️ balance all of your meals with protein, healthy fats, and fiber to support balanced blood sugar ☀️move your body daily (in a way that feels supportive) ☀️get creative in finding a way to make time just for you (a show you love after your kids go to bed, journal, read a book you’re excited about) ☀️hydrate with mineral rich water (spring water, or water with minerals added back in via real salt or mineral drops) ☀️breathe (I mean really breathe) something I’ve noticed is that it’s often the smallest changes that can make the biggest impact on our health, and this is especially true for mothers. sure we don’t often have a lot of free time, but when we make impactful changes to our health everything else feels a little easier! you’ve got this mama 🫶🏻☀️🌱

Isteni, teljes kiőrlésű pizza, amiben garantáltan jó a lisztek aránya és nincs cukor. 🥰  80 dkg teljes kiőrlésű liszt 20 dkg kenyérliszt 6 gramm friss élesztő 30 gramm só 70 dkg víz Nagyon pici olívaolaj A lisztet, sót és az élesztőt dagasztógépbe teszed majd lassan hozzá adagolod a vizet és az olajat. Alaposan dolgozd ki! Lisztezett felületre tedd ki a tésztát, takard le és hagyd 20 percet pihenni! Jöhet át úgynevezett laminálás! Fogod a tésztát és kihúzogatod, mint a rétestésztát, majd összehajtogatod, mint a pogácsát szokták. A lényeg, hogy sima felületű tésztát kapj. Egy üveg vagy porcelán tálba kell tenni, pici olívaolaj a felületére, majd egy folpackkal lezárva mehet a hűtőbe. Itt legalább 24, de akár 72 órát is pihenhet. Mikor kiveszed a szépen megkelt tésztát, óvatosan formázz belőle kis bucikat, tedd őket lisztezett felületre és kb 1,5-2 órát letakarva hagyd őket pihenni. Közben készítsd elő a pizza követ és mielőtt elkezded nyújtani a tésztát, kapcsold be a sütőt, hiszen 190-200 fokra lesz szükséged. Közben az alap szósz is elkészülhet, ehhez szükséged lesz sűrített paradicsomra, darabos paradicsom konzervre, sóra, fokhagymára, bazsalikomra, oregánóra ízlés szerint. Ezeket főzd össze, végül botmixer segítségével turmixold össze! Hagyd kihűlni! Vegyél elő egy bucit, húzgáld szét óvatosan a kezeddel megfelelő méretűre! Kend meg az alap szósszal és pakold meg ízlésed szerint minden földi jóval. В този момент се наложи запознаването ми с всички теми по случая, както и храни, метаболитни състояния и превенция от моя страна. За да не прогресира ИР в Диабет тип 2 е нужна промяна в начина на хранене и тя трябва да бъде постоянна! Днес 2г по-късно вече нямам промени в захарта! Ето защо наскоро приех случаят на своя близка страдаща от ИР присърце и двете заедно се опитахме да провеним навиците й до степен на самоконтрол от нейна страна. 1) Massage: Opt for a lymphatic massage for mom this year. Help her system clear some toxins and have her feeling great! 2) Tea: Get her some organic detox teas. This way she can relax and help her system at the same time! Some great ones would be dandelion, milk thistle, or nettle. 3) Clothes: Give her a gift card to a great company with organic cotton, linen, or wool. Pact always has a wide range from dresses to sweats and everything in between. 4) A comfy blanket or bath robe: “Makemake” has organic knit blankets that are perfect for curling up with a book and “Under the Canopy” has the best organic cotton robes for a home spa day! 5) Natural Beeswax Candles: They smell great naturally or some have essential oils mixed in. Wonderful for the home and helps avoid artificial fragrances! 6) A water filtration system: There are full home water filtration systems available, but if that’s out of your budget, a bath or shower filter is always helpful and decreasing toxins and chlorine exposure. Let mom enjoy a nice warm bath without it negatively affecting her thyroid! 7) Pots and pans: If she loves to cook, stainless steel and cast-iron are always a great gift. 8) Books: there’s plenty of wonderful parenting, health, or self improvement books she may be interested in. One way I like to do this is print out all the photos from the last few months and put them in the family photo album. Look through all the pictures and get those stress levels down with great memories and funny stories. Pick something she likes to do that maybe she can’t do very often and spend the day doing it. 10) Ditch and Switch: If she’s on a health journey and still hasn’t switched to less toxic personal care items, help her find great alternatives to switch to. ✨When I was a young fitness instructor in my 20s I believed that confidence came from having rock hard abs and the number on the scale. Don’t get me wrong, if I told YOU, that you were crushing it and doing amazing…I meant it! I’m talking more about how I judged myself. The irony is while I had the ability to teach tons of classes per week, do my own workouts, constantly make healthy meals and focus on my own self and body I actually judged myself MORE. Wouldn’t wear crop tops, and if complimented I didn’t believe it. Fast forward to 36 year old Courtney. 2 babies in 20 months. 2 c-sections. 2 entire years breastfeeding (and still going!). Workout when I can. Which is usually power walks with the littles and quick 10-30 minutes of whatever I can fit a few times per week. And of course teaching my classes which are a great built in workout. But it’s now that I wear the crop tops. Post pics in bathing suits with our kids and focus more on the happy faces than how my mom tummy looks. I’ve learned that confidence comes from beneath the skin and I genuinely believe it. Taking care of your body for health and longevity to spend many wonderful years is our goal. Take care of your body, and wear your body proud. Believing in yourself is the confidence. Finding pride in where you came from is your confidence. Owning who you are and letting your light shine is your confidence. If someone compliments you, say thank you and believe them! I’ve got tickets to the mummy gun show. Even if my kids laugh and say they’re small. I don’t care! It’s a funny reminder that my whole exercise and health journey started with (a still present today) issue in my right shoulder. I have a small tear and surgery wasn’t really an option. Building strength was the way forward. But I distinctly remember sitting in the physio’s office. Mum of two small toddlers trying to navigate life back at work. Me saying I just had no time. The Physio challenging me that if nothing changed, nothing would change and how was I going to create 3 x 30 min times in my week for the exercises I needed. So that’s how I started. Getting up earlier so I could have 30 mins - 3 times a week. So my shoulder could be better managed. From little things - big things grow 😍 Start that small healthy habit for you. You never know where it will take you. Two weeks after having my third baby- 228 pounds 3 months post partum- 221 pounds. I have had a hard time losing the weight and couldn’t figure out why. I was doing everything right until I found a doctor who finally listened to me. I was diagnosed with insulin resistance. Now after medication and eating tailored to my condition, I have been able to lose 4 pounds which is unheard of but amazing for me. I wanted the flat stomach so f’n bad. I would envision myself in a red bikini with the perfect body on the beach in pure bliss. I put all my worth into how my body looked. I killed myself every summer trying to achieve it & because it didn’t look how I thought “perfect” looked I never felt good enough. This left me feeling super anxious & self conscious about my body. The voice in my head was so loud & the feeling of people staring at me was so intense. It feels like when you’re in a bikini there’s a magnifying glass right on top of you & everyone can see all the things you don’t like about your body. But they’re definitely not. most people are thinking about their own or about something totally off the spectrum of bodies. I look back at my at my 20s and realize that every summer I was always restricting food and tracking macros but all I wanted was to feel good on my body and eat what I wanted. After having my son & losing the postpartum weight I came to a crossroads. I could continue to diet for the “perfect body” & continue carrying this burden I’m putting on myself or I can focus on being a healthy great mother & let go. I chose to let go of something I’ve heals in to for most of my life & it was the best decision ever. I can proudly say this is the most confident I’ve ever been on the beach in a bikini, I’m eating freely with no restrictions & the happiest ever in my life.
