It was a little quiet as far as warblers go, but we saw some amazing birds and had a wonderful time chatting about nature with everyone. Pictured is some of what we saw; 3. Hello birders! This is just a reminder for tomorrow's bird walk. The weather looks decent. No rain, but it may be a little chilly. Join me and park friends tomorrow for another spring bird walk at Franklin Park, Sunday, May 5th, 8am-10am. I'm looking forward to birding with you! 🙂 Please bring binoculars if you have them. Limited loaner binoculars will be available on a first come, first served basis. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and dressing for the weather conditions. Expect to walk 1-2 miles on paved paths. The nearest restrooms are at the Franklin Park Golf Course Clubhouse. In the event of heavy rain, the walk will be canceled. Meeting location: Meet by the tennis courts next to the Shattuck Picnic Grove on Circuit Drive. Google "Shattuck Picnic Grove, Boston, Ma" for GPS navigation. Street parking is available. Dainty Delightful Dove Gentle in disposition & persistent in call, the Spotted Dove is a common, non-migratory bird with a distinctive spotted torso They are wonderously graceful & highly dedicated in their relationships as they mate for life & sincerely raise their young ones together. This delightful creature was in the midst of an active search for things to build her nest. In a while she found a long plastic thread and carried it to her nest to bind the twigs.
