We went to @thelakehouseyyc last week to celebrate our 11th anniversary ๐ฉ๐ปโโค๏ธโ๐โ๐จ๐ผโฅ๏ธ We heard a lot of amazing things about @thelakehouseyyc , especially a place for celebration! This beautiful restaurant not only have a beautiful setting and look out, their food is exceptionally delicious and amazing! For appetizers, we tried the ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐๐ ๐น๐พ๐๐ฝ ๐ซ๐๐ถ๐๐ & ๐ฆ๐พ๐๐ ๐๐๐ถ๐ท ๐น๐๐๐๐๐ธ๐ธ๐พ๐๐. They both extremely amazing ! As a seafood lover, you canโt go wrong with these two appetites ! House Cured & Smoked Seafood & Fish are definitely the winner! And for the King Crab Fettuccine, we love the house made pasta and the sweet broccolini with the chili butter so much! What a great way to start the dinner ๐ฝ๏ธ And for the mains, we ordered the ๐๐๐ ๐๐ป ๐ต๐พ๐๐๐ and ๐ข๐๐พ๐๐๐๐น ๐๐๐๐๐พ๐ป๐พ๐๐น ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐พ๐ท๐๐๐. We are meat lovers as well haha! The Bison Striploin and Red Wine Braised Bison are best combination! And my ribeye goes with the Truffle Cheese Sauce perfectly as well. I am super impressed by the Brie & Honey Ice Cream, and Brett is a big chocolate fan, so of course heโs so happy with his dark chocolate tart haha! I'll never forget my Banff trip I took in Nov 2018. It happened at such a weird part of my life, and the reason I went was because of my best friend, Dorothy's wedding. It holds a special place in my heart too because I had no idea how much I NEEDED to be away and actually take time for myself. One of my favourite shots from last month when I got to hang with @kristenryanphotography @ginayeo_photography and @addiesheahinphotography for a mere 18 hours of which only 2 were spent sleeping! It was so peaceful at Emerald Lake that night- the tourists and buses were all gone, the weather was on the cooler side, keeping everyone in their cabins it seemed. We listened to the loons calling across the lake and absorbed the beauty of this amazing body of water and the mountains surrounding it.

What a way to start the day โ๏ธ
@thesonikchef spent his childhood in the mountains outside of #Calgary. Born into an outdoorsy family imbued Rob with a love of nature. The #BoyScout organization further fostered this penchant. His early adulthood was spent working various jobs to pay for his climbing, hiking, camping and scuba diving in Southern Alberta and Southern California. He spent the better part of a decade deflecting questions as to why he was not a #chef. Eventually, it was his Uncle Don who put Rob on the path. After preparing a meal for the family at the time of his grandmotherโs funeral, Uncle Don put his arm around Rob and said,โThat was one hell of a meal! You have to do what you love in life, and clearly, you love to cook. Go to Culinary School.โ The rest was, as they say, is history. . . Rob enrolled in the #ProfessionalCookingProgramattheSouthernAlbertaSchoolofTechnology (SAIT). While striving for the Red Seal Certification, he had the privilege of working at the #CanadianRockyMountainResorts in Banff. There Rob assisted renowned chef, #ChefDanyLamote of #TodosSantos, Mexico. Later, he spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as the Sous Chef at the #LakeOHaraLodge in #YohoNationalPark. Completing his hours, having aced his exams, and receiving his Red Seal, Rob graduated with Honors in 2012. After that, Rob was set free into the wild world of the #Canadian restaurant industry. He subsequently worked as a Saucier at one of the top restaurants in Calgary, @blinkrestaurant and Bar under Chef #ChrisDewling, a slew of eateries across the land, and lastly at @oxandangela in Calgary before going to the @ntjlodge . Rob originally came to #PollysPaladar with the aforementioned Chef Dany Lamote in the Fall of 2013. It was the very first time that Dany had been to the foothills to cook food for #Paladar members.
