Wanna meet the fellow that I went face-to-face with yesterday? This would be him! It did, however, happen to have a very ornery sow that did NOT want to ride in it, so out of me and my Farmers, it was me that took the hit trying to get her loaded. Thankfully, it wasn't bad, and life goes on. This is farmlife. It's our life. It's life at Cat Hollow Farm to produce things, ourselves. Probably not everyone knows what it takes to raise livestock and farm, but there are many who do. One reason I document what I do is to look back and remember that it was worth it. I haven't regretted a decision yet. There will come a time in the not so distant future that we are all going to need to know how to help ourselves and others regarding sustainability. Don't ever stop being passionate about everything you love! As an artist, I love to create, and as subjective as it can be, I think I caught my essence. Yes, I photograph more than livestock and landscapes. This self-portrait was taken by a lamp shade lighting, removing the color, and reintroducing warmth. I love my black, chipped fingernail polish, and leaning over the chair, I was in a tank top, so the light hit my shoulders, nicely. It was overexposure blurred my hands and mid-face, but this photo is a favorite I wanted to share. It's titled simply, "Amber Fire."
