Copa de Roses Tag 7/8, Am letzten Abend gab es dann noch die große Siegerehrung und die Abschlussveranstaltung von Copa de Roses 2024 am Strand. Später trafen sich noch einmal alle Teilnehmer aus Genthin zu einer letzten "Besprechung". Wir haben auf eine tolle Woche mit unseren Sportlern angestoßen und gemeinsam den Abend ausklingen lassen. Heute morgen war dann packen und räumen angesagt. Nach einem letzten Foto am Strand verabschiedeten sich alle und traten die Heimreise an. Die Reisebusse führen fast pünktlich um 09:00 Uhr los. Ich wünsche allen eine stressfreie Heimfahrt. Copa de Roses Tag 7 Der letzte aktive Tag begann wieder stürmisch. Deshalb nutzten wir ein letztes mal das örtliche Schwimmbad zum Training. Währendessen starteten die Wettkämpfe der DLRG am Strand bis die Wellen den Wettkampfbereich überspülten. Dann waren die Trainer und Betreuer gefordert. Es wurde eine Staffel 6x50 m als neue Disziplin ins Leben gerufen. 6 Staffeln stellten sich der Herausforderung. Unser Verein (Melanie, Matthias, Nico und Susann ) bildeten eine Staffel mit Elko und Francis. Wir wurden sensationell Zweiter!!! Am Nachmittag gab es noch ein letztes Abschluss Training am Strand von Roses. Nach einigen Runden Beachflag ging es für alle nocheinmal ins Wasser bei super Wellen. Copa de Roses Tag 6 Wettkampftag der DLRG. Nach unserem eigenen Athletik Training am Nachmittag, haben wir uns die Wettkämpfe angeschaut. Natürlich haben wir unsere Athleten aus der OG Genthin kräftig abgefeuert. Ein toller Tag mit vielen spannenden Wettkämpfen bei super Wetter. Copa de Roses Tag 5 Heute ging es morgens nicht zum Laufen. Wir unterstützten schon früh die DLRG beim Aufbau ihres Wettkampfbereiches am Strand. Danach stand bei uns ein langer Lauf auf dem Programm, den alle super durchgehalten haben. Nun ist erstmal Pause und alle schauen bei den spannenden Wettkämpfen der DLRG zu und unterstützen natürlich unsere Teilnehmer aus der OG Genthin. Peepa muss sich heute noch etwas kürzer treten, da sie sich etwas erkältet hat. Sie freut sich aber, dass sie sich die Wettkämpfe anschauen kann. Copa de Roses Tag 4 Gestern war für unsere Sportler Ruhetag. Wir nutzten das Angebot der DLRG einen Tagesausflug nach Girona zu machen. Einige führen nach Barcelona. In beiden Städten gab es viel zu sehen und alle genossen bei 20 Grad und ☀️ den Tag. Aber ganz ohne Bewegung geht es eben nicht. Tag 4 Copa de Roses Natürlich begann der Tag wieder mit einem lockeren Lauf. Anschließend hatten einige von uns das Vergnügen mit dem Roses Express die Gegend um Roses zu erkunden. Sportlich ging es weiter bis zur Mittagspause. Am Nachmittag meinte es das Wetter nicht mehr gut mit uns und unser Wechseltraining fiel etwas kürzer aus als geplant. Aber die Sicherheit unserer Kids ist wichtiger. Am Abend waren wir noch einmal in der Schwimmhalle. Nach diesem anstrengenden Tag gingen wir in ein einheimisches Restaurant und genießen nun den Abend gemeinsam mit unseren Freunden der DLRG aus Genthin. Morgen legen wir einen Ruhetag mit wenig Training. Nach einer 20 stündigen Fahrt mit Auto, Bus und Flieger, sind wir alle gut in unserem Trainingslager angekommen. Wie jedes Jahr sind wir wieder an der Costa Brava in dem schönen Örtchen Roses. Nach der Ankunft ging es erstmal Zimmer beziehen und etwas essen. Und bereits am ersten Tag ging das Training los. Auch unsere Freunde von der DLRG ging es bereits ins Wasser. A group of our Year 10 students participated in the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme’s ‘Maths Feast’, held at Worthing College on Tuesday. Up against 10 other teams, from schools including Roedean, Brighton Girls, Farlington, St Oscar Romero, Davison and Durrington, Sion performed superbly. In the 4 round event, Sion won Rounds 1 and 4, and finished as overall champions. Senior School Poetry Workshop It was a really energising day, with pupils of all ages engaging, creating and sharing their own work. Our visiting poet, Ash facilitated a wealth of ideas through his lively poetry readings and also by offering the students a whole range of interactive tasks; he encouraged us all to play with words to find both fun and meaning at the heart of poetry. The students enjoyed a very different approach to their English ‘studies’ that day, finding that there was a challenge in writing their own work, but also a real freedom in exploring their thoughts through new techniques. To build on what they started on Thursday, the school is launching an annual ‘Say Something’ competition, where students can share their poetry and receive recognition for their creativity and consideration. We got out the @kapla challenge set today. As we are still settling in, it was nice to be with a small group and observe their imagination, determination and critical thinking! I was amazed at just how much these children enjoyed the challenge cards and the discussions they had around where to balance the blocks to make it work! Gleichzeitig war ich ein Teil dieser einzigartigen Triathlon-Party. 🤩 • ChallengeWomenRun in Roth: eine Einhornparty mit @marathon.princess & einfach pure Freude und Spaß dank @lachenlaufenlaura 🦄 • WTCS Hamburg: vor genau 6 Jahren auf den Tag genau habe ich dort meine erste Sprintdistanz gewagt und meine Liebe zum Triathlon entdeckt.
