I’ve been teaching at @musical.minds_ for three years now and I’ve never been more certain I am on the right career path with the right people than I am right now! My days are filled with music, singing, creating, playing, dancing, laughing and learning. As well as making meaningful connections with the wonderfully diverse people in my community. My roll as Music Coordinator at Musical Minds has given me the ability to support my creative practice as a musician and performer while remaining deeply connected to music everyday. Nothing has felt more rewarding in my 20 year career than the satisfaction I get from nurturing a love of music and creativity in students as young as three weeks old and I feel like my work has just begun. . Of course none of this would be possible without the vision, guidance and expertise of my boss, mentor and dear friend Tanya to whom I will be forever grateful for this opportunity. Slow Show Installation : Le jour où tout a commencé, Sixième et dernière partie. Top ! Ça tourne ! Le Top départ m'est donné. Au fur et à mesure que j'interprète ma performance et que les minutes passent, le décompte du temps restant avant le clap de fin m'est donné. Quinze minutes, dix minutes, cinq minutes, deux minutes, plus que quelques secondes... Stop. C'est fini. Le tournage aura duré vingt minutes, exactement le même temps que la performance en public. Mais ce petit temps aura très (trop) vite passé. Je suis partagé entre le soulagement que ce soit fini à cause de mon léger stress, et l'envie que ça ne prenne jamais fin. Pour être honnête, j'aurai aimé que cela dure une Eternité. Car comme certains le savent : On sait lorsque j'entre "en scène", mais on ne sait jamais quand je vais me décider à sortir ! 😆 Et si simplement on pouvait y rester toute la vie... A l'heure où j'écris ces mots, j'ignore où se trouve l'installation du Slow Show. Mais si vous avez la chance qu'elle passe prés de chez vous, je vous recommande vivement d'aller la voir. Vous ne serez pas déçu ! 😉 De plus, la musique est magnifique, très calme, elle vous donne l'impression d'être sur une plage. C'est également et entre autre sur celle-ci que nous apprenions à composer le Slow Show. Je l'ai toujours beaucoup aimé. Slow Show Installation : Le jour où tout a commencé, Cinquième partie. Alors que dans mon esprit, j'étais persuadée que cela se ferait sur une surface plate ("logique !"😆), arrivée sur les lieux, j'ai la grande surprise de découvrir qu'il est prévu que j'effectue mon interprétation sur une surface assez étroite et longue située au milieu des deux fosses destinées aux Skaters. Aussitôt, je reste légèrement bouche bée et assez inquiète considéré que ma performance possède beaucoup de mouvement lors desquels je suis allongée sur le ventre ou le dos. Il est donc évident que cet emplacement précis me pose un problème. Et que fait-on dans ce cas-là ? C'est très simple : On s'adapte ! 😆 Ensemble, nous testons plusieurs exemples de mouvements à effectuer allongée sur le dos. Je tente d'effectuer cela au mieux, d'ajuster ma posture et faire en sorte que cela fonctionne. Et ça marche ! Du moins, j'ose l'espérer... Viens ensuite le moment où je dois prendre mon placement final avant de passer à l'action. Je dois me situer parfaitement dans le cadre de la caméra. Je me place un peu plus sur ma droite, encore un peu, et c'est parfait. En même temps que j'inspire et expire pour tenter d'évacuer le stress, je prends quelques longues secondes afin de me concentrer et me mettre mentalement dans la peau de mon personnage et... Top ! Ça tourne ! Slow Show Installation : Le jour où tout a commencé, Quatrième partie. Très vite vient le moment du tournage vidéo auquel nous sommes appelés et participerons à tour de rôle. Nous sommes au milieu du mois de Juillet, dans le sud de la France et il fait très chaud. Il nous est conseillé de rester à l'intérieur en attendant notre tour car bien que nous ne soyons plus en début d'après-midi, dans le Square de Skate où est installée l'équipe du tournage, la chaleur est assez intense. Le premier jeune performer passe, puis la seconde. Je choisi de passer en dernier afin d'avoir le temps de répéter et compléter ma partition chorégraphique. Il est aux environs de dix-huit heures lorsque je suis appelée pour rejoindre l'équipe de tournage au Skate Park de Luma. Le soleil commencant à changer et les couleurs de chaque vidéo devant être uniforme, je ne devais pas trainer et m'y rendre rapidement.
