Changed things up a bit. Finally got to display the signed Day & Age picture disc 7” singles in a way that am happy with 🙌 The only one we still need to get signed is Brandon. We got Mark, Dave and Ronnie to sign theirs in the “after party” at the Bunkhouse after night 2 of the Sam’s Town Decennial. Really it was just another night at the Bunkhouse. It was just that everyone went there after the show. Brandon was the only one who didn’t make it. Dave was really confused when I handed him this. He flipped it and asked what it was. He looked at it aguja and said, oh it’s a picture disc. De todas as bandas dos anos 2000, The Killers foi, de longe, a que mais acompanhei com fidelidade, curtindo a evolução através de cada álbum, mas, assim como o foi com o Radiohead, vi neste álbum "Day & Age" o último capítulo da trajetória deles que realmente me interessou e por razões parecidas. Considero que Brandon Flowers e cia se tornaram caricaturas deles mesmo; para além disso, alguns membros originais, sem um motivo claro, saem e voltam da banda, o que quebra a identidade. Parece que o grupo virou mais negócio que diversão, mais teatralidade no palco que verdade. Sinto que no início a energia nas performances eram catárticas e espontâneas, hoje soam calculadas, um tanto pragmáticas e utilitárias, embora os shows sigam sendo fabulosos; pude assisti-los em Brasília ano passado, a @ana_alberton carregava ainda nossa Tiê na barriga. Por um momento ela até esqueceu e estava escalando a arquibancada em busca de um bom lugar, mas tão logo a lembrei de seu estado. Na ocasião tocaram "Sozinho" do Caetano Veloso e várias canções deste da foto, o terceiro álbum de estúdio deles. Lançado em 2008 pela Island Records, foi considerado pelo vocalista o trabalho mais prazeroso de ser gravado do grupo e, de fato, representou o apogeu deles, tanto artístico quanto comercial, vendendo três milhões de cópias em todo o mundo, uma marca absurdamente gigantesca para os padrões fonográficos da época, fenômeno que foi catapultado pela turnê mundial que fizeram, passando realmente por todos os continentes e que gerou um dvd que me encanta ainda hoje, o ao vivo no teatro londrino Royal Albert Hall, lançado no ano seguinte. Iniciaram o processo de composição deste durante a "Sam's Town Tour", disco antecessor que é o meu favorito, mas este seguiu o mesmo estilo conceitual e sonoro, talvez seja um pouco mais pop e nas palavras dos integrantes "é como olhar para o Sam's Town de Marte", algo que a própria capa alude, este elemento cósmico.
