Once upon a time, I applied to Berklee College of Music in New York City. I didn’t think I’d get in but it was important to me to try because of many reasons, most notably because this place is one of the top contemporary music universities in the world, I have been writing musicals for years and performing show tunes as often as humanly possible (the legions in 4 Canadian towns know me well as “that Frozen singer,”) and I really needed a change of vocation for a couple of years (or forever). I also wanted to honor my late father who taught me music, was a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. If he were alive and I told him about this he would be looking at me slack-jawed and grilling me about “how I did it.” I consider this a win for the both of us as so much of his work inspired mine and vice versa. He played music until the very end of his life and led about 4 band projects at a time. I saw him never give up, so neither did I. That’s how. So, I am thrilled to have been offered a spot, and even more ecstatic to be able to accept it. I will be charting and recording my adventures, lessons and artistic output throughout this journey in Musical Theatre writing and design, completing a Master of Creative Technology by the end of 2025. Here, I’m charting it here. Yup. A whole account just for this! You’ll learn about lots of entertaining tidbits, the inspiration that motivates me to write books, plays, and songs, and I’ll try to make my Canadian origin story as wild and mysterious as Wolverine’s. The Laguna De Los Tres hike was one of the hardest and longest hikes I’ve ever done. It was over 15 miles door to door with a 3500 foot elevation gain. The Celebration Tour Tercera fecha (23-04-2024) en Ciudad de México en el Palacio de los Deportes. Parte 3, para este acto MADRE comienza a recitar las revelaciones del apocalipsis con su interlude The Beast Within utilizando las imágenes del Reinvention Tour, entrando a la época de los 00'. Pasando a la presentación de Die Another Day, reafirmando su renacimiento y reinvención a nivel artístico, esto acompañado con imagenes en las pantallas del árbol de la vida y un eneagrama estando ella en el centro. Y comienza Don't Tell Me, con todo el concepto de vaqueros y caballos, muy country a mi parecer, con el mensaje que no le digan que pare, por lo que la siguiente aparición de su otra hija Stella salvando a su madre de que un payaso de rodeo le dispare. Para pasar a Mother and Father, en donde habla de la muerte de su madre, dando un gran speach sobre el no tener madre y su conciencia que ella toma al ser madre, siendo esto para mí muy conmovedor ya que en las pantallas muestra imágenes de su madre y la de su hijo David Banda, un paralelismo entre sus vidas y además él también canta, en mi caso las lágrimas brotaron sin dificultad. Llegamos a la parte más acústica de esta obra, dónde en este caso para esta fecha canto Expréss Yourself, en donde fue acompañada de otro speach sobre su vida en Nueva York cuando era joven y la violencia que vivió y como una foto de Frida Khalo la ayudo a salir adelante ante tal situación, considerandola una madre. En un salto en el tiempo para cantar La Isla Bonita, con quién tiene una gran conección y es aquien le dedica está canción, mientras la acompaña con la guitarra. ***REPOST 8/2023*** #Stillsame…lol…Two lesson my #biodaddy taught me: “Self-Preservation is Job One/“Always Stand up for myself AND others when being mistreated/abused…AND make sure the mistreatment/abuse NEVER happens again”….That’s why “I never start drama of any kind regarding myself/my loved ones/those unable to defend themselves; but I sure as hell will #finishit…lol… #pleasetrustandbelieve…lol… #thatshowmydaddyraised…lol. Reposting this meme reminds me of the first few weeks of moving back to South Carolina when I was ten after my folks split…There were these “bebes kids before Bebes kids” that lived with their grandmother who terrorized the ENTIRE town my mom, my siblings and I moved back to it…It was hell moving “back home” because I was more “Philly than South Carolina, and I pretty much was “rejected” by both sides of my southern families …But, #dontcryformeArgentina… lol…Because what was an “insult” at the time that I was “Just like my mean ole daddy” from BOTH sides of my family became a “cherished truth” that has helped me survive “till this day”… #kismet…lol. Anyhoo, the “South Carolina Bebe’s kids” lstarted bullying my 2 younger siblings (only had 2 at the time)…I also was “older than the oldest girl”, so I had “southern birth order seniority”: whatever I said in our little cul-de-sic was LAW…lol…So I confronted the younger children for bullying my siblings, and they said they were gonna get their “Big Sister to beat me up” for chastising them VERBALLY …lo. When the little girl came, “words were said” and she ran home crying to tell her “liquor loving grandmother” on me…But instead of going to my mom/aunts to “tell on me,” like an adults was EXPECTED to do; this women threatened to physically hurt a 10 year…”Words were said again,” but this time in “Cursive”…lol… #FirstOldlasyIEverCuraedOutandwasReadytoFight”…lol… #FirstTimeBeingHexedToo… #butidigress…lol. Wouter is sinds kort onze nieuwe vertegenwoordiger in Buenos Aires. Nieuw in de stad is hij echter niet: al bijna 20 jaar is "het Parijs van Zuid-Amerika" zijn thuis. Met een stevige portie werk- en ondernemingservaring in Argentinië en buurland Uruguay is hij er goed ingeburgerd 🇦🇷 .
