Right in the middle of doing some fine line detail the phone rings, scaring the bejesus out of me! I jumped a foot at least- dragging the brush up & across the canvas!! It’s my WiFi provider finally calling me back about an issue, so I have to pick up- in the meantime I’m grabbing what I thought was a water bottle to spray my mistake while actually grabbing the rubbing alcohol & spraying that on! Rubbing alcohol melts acrylic paint!! So I am cursing while answering the phone! Poor guy! Really bad timing! Spent the rest of the day mostly fixing that area 🙁 #deedeehampton

absolute highlight of the day was hearing Victor’s vows during our candlelit ceremony. They were so much more than I could have ever imagined and I was on cloud nine hearing them come from his heart. My mom passed away when I was little, so my dad had a surprise to share with us at the end of the ceremony of her singing Amazing Grace… it was a clip of audio that I actually recorded of her one night while we were goofing around in the evening. It was so unexpected and moving, I don’t think there was a dry eye to be found. The entire day was filled with so much love, happiness and beauty. I feel like the luckiest person in the whole entire world. K🤍😭 To this day…this must have been the most emotional 😭 vows ceremony I have EVER been a part of…have been documenting weddings and adventure elopements for years….. every single one of them is so beautifully unique and amazing…. One moment you’re sitting in an art class that you absolutely dread the fact that you even had to take, to years later that very exact art class is the reason you dance along the shores as the gulf coast wind kisses your face with the person who is undoubtedly your soul mate. 29 years together, but their souls were ready to take on the world together for a lifetime. Nothing to me is more magical than getting to witness true love. Two people who have embraced the chaos of life as one and who have been the beacons of light in the darkest of days. Who would have known that something as simple as a lateen would have made the biggest impact on an anniversary session, giving me the reminder that the person who you want to walk this earth with will help give you the light you deserve only if you both choose to keep putting your all into your relationship.
