Desondanks financieren, investeren en verzekeren grote bedrijven nog steeds de verwoestende fossiele industrie. Een leefbare wereld glipt door onze vingers heen. En degenen die daar het minst verantwoordelijk voor zin, lijden er het meest onder. 💰🤑Hun winst is ons verlies😢🌍 Hebzucht gaat ten koste van de gezondheid en veiligheid van samenlevingen wereldwijd. Deze uitbuiting van de natuur gaat hand in hand met de uitbuiting van werknemers die geen eerlijk en leefbaar loon krijgen, maar de economie is er voor ons, voor mensen, en niet andersom. 🛑Genoeg is genoeg 🛑 De overheid faalt en neemt geen verantwoordelijkheid. Bedrijven worden niet of nauwelljks aangepakt. Sterker nog, de overheid houdt de vervuilende manier van produceren van deze bedrijven in stand. Vlak voor de Europese verkiezingen gaan we de straat op om onze stem te laten horen. Het is tijd om niet de winst van aandeelhouders, maar het welzijn van mensen en de aarde prioriteit te maken. ❤️Mensen boven winst❤️ Bedrijven moeten direct gedwongen worden om verantwoordelijkheid te nemen voor hun gedrag. De Zuidas is hét symbool voor de macht van grote vervuilende bedrijven; hier worden de miljardenwinsten gemaakt die ten koste gaan van mens, natuur en het klimaat. Hier bepalen machtige bedriven vanuit hun glanzende wolkenkrabbers hoe de toekomst eruit gaat zien. The climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan that will be held from November 11 to November 22, 2024. A trip over approximately 5000 km. During this trip in various places we want to draw attention to climate issues and, above all, to play an inspiring role in this. We will leave the Netherlands a week before the autumn holidays. The plan is to make the trip via Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey. We are currently working with the Dutch embassies in various countries to guarantee safe passage. Een groep van zo’n 25 actvisten van Extinction Rebellion heeft vrijdagochtend actie gevoerd bij de kolencentrale van RWE in de Eemshaven. De activisten waren op drie verschillende plekken over de hekken geklommen en het terrein op gegaan. Het standbeeld van Dik Trom in Hoofddorp is afgelopen week door @extinctionrebellionnl vervuild. Onze Dik, een bijzonder Hoofddorps kind en dat is-ie, werd geblinddoekt en een bord om de nek gedaan waarmee XR hun klimaatwaanzin probeerde te verkondigen. Het is een tactiek die we steeds vaker zien en wordt toegepast over de hele wereld door ecowarriors: Het bevuilen van kunstwerken. Wat Forza! betreft is protesteren prima. Een recht waar we zuinig op moeten zijn en iets waar we over moeten waken. Maar Kunstwerken bevuilen is dat niet!. Het beschadigen of vernielen van kunstwerken draagt niets bij en heeft niets te maken met protest. Sterker nog, de kans dat als dat zijn doel niet haalt zal enkel het gevoel versterken voor dit soort groeperingen dat ze extremer moeten worden. Daar moeten we zeker voor waken. Onze Dik is gelukkig niet lang blind geweest. Forza! raadslid @jordyschaap heeft direct dezelfde dag de troep nog opgeruimd en Dik weer vrij zicht over het dorp gegeven. Het is niet de eerste keer dat hij de rotzooi van de klimaatdrammers moet opruimen in het dorp. Afgelopen januari heeft hij dit ook al moeten doen toen XR een ander standbeeld in Hoofddorp bevuilde; onze polderjongen (foto's 3 en 4). Een beeld die er staat ter herinnering aan al die jongens en mannen die hebben bijgedragen aan het opdrogen van onze polder die met bloed, zweet en tranen de ringvaart en Hoofdvaart hebben afgegraven. Die doe je geen blinddoek voor, die eer je. Totaal ongepast om hen dan een blinddoek om te doen en een strop om de nek te hangen. Vandaag protesteerden we, tijdens de opening van de Keukenhof, tegen het grootschalige gebruik van gevaarlijke pesticiden in de bollenteelt. Wij eisen een gifvrije bollenteelt en maakten het gebruik van gif zichtbaar door “gif” over Spicey Rebels heen te gieten. Om te laten zien dat het ook anders kan, deelden we tijdens de demonstratie gifvrije, biologische bloembollen uit. Met het overgieten maakten we het vele gif zichtbaar dat in de bollenteelt gebruikt wordt en dat niet alleen de grond, de dieren en het water ziek maakt en vervuilt maar ook de lichamen binnendringt van mensen die rond de bollenvelden wonen en werken. De bollenteelt is de meest pesticide-intensieve vorm van landbouw in Nederland. Op vele plekken worden veiligheidsnormen structureel overschreden en op sommige plekken worden zelfs verboden giffen teruggevonden. Dit laat zien dat de overheid faalt in haar verantwoordelijkheid om mens en natuur te beschermen tegen gevaarlijke stoffen. Steeds meer onderzoekers wijzen op de schade die pesticiden veroorzaken, niet alleen aan het milieu maar ook op de gezondheid van mensen. Dit is extra zorgwekkend aangezien pesticiden op vele plekken teruggevonden worden: in de lucht rondom de bollenvelden, in de huizen en urine van omwonenden, tot aan de luiers van kinderen. I samband med Overshoot Day, dagen då vi i Sverige har förbrukat årets budget av förnybara resurser, kommer Rebellmammorna säga STOPP. Med gemensamma krafter stickar vi en gigantisk röd halsduk som vi virar runt Riksdagshuset för att markera att det är här vi drar en linje. Detsamma gör Mothers*Rebellion i Norge på sin Overshoot Day. Om alla på jorden levde som vi i Sverige skulle det behövas 4 jordklot. Ja, du läste rätt! Vi lever som om vi hade fyra jordklot. Dagen då vi har förbrukat årets resurser bör uppmärksammas och inte överskridas – det är vårt budskap. Sveriges Overshoot Day inföll förra året den 3:e april. Vi bjuder in Rebellmammor, mor- och farmödrar, pappor, aktivister och alldeles vanliga stickare att delta. Sticka, virka eller skapa en 15 cm bred och 1,5 meter lång halsduk i röda toner. Använd restgarn, nytt garn eller återbruka enligt din fantasi. Du behöver vara klar den 17:e mars. Vi har samordnare på olika platser som kommer sammanfoga alla bidrag och ta dem till Stockholm, kolla event på FB. Är du inte på sociala medier? Mejla [email protected] så hjälper vi dig vidare. Ordna stickträffar! Umgås, sticka, fika eller sitt och lyssna på radio – vilket spelar ingen roll. Kanske kan det bli en chans att träffa andra Rebellmammor och bjuda in allierade att vara med och sticka. Detta är ett enkelt sätt att göra sin röst hörd. INSURE OUR FUTURE week of action 🔥🌏 #planetoverprofit #extintionrebellion Early yesterday morning, Extinction Rebellion activists occupied five major insurer offices in London, including the iconic Walkie Talkie building, marking the start of our Insurance Week of Action happening in solidarity with @insure.our.future global week of actions. Later a colourful, musical parade of hundreds took a tour of the ‘Fossil Fools’, marching around the occupied buildings, showing solidarity with fellow rebels and once again calling on the insurance bosses to change the course of history and stop insuring #fossilfuel projects. Rebels took to the streets, sharing urgent flyers with the public reminding them that “time is running out”. We demand a #CitizensAssembly for climate and ecological justice because it’s time for people to decide our shared future. During the march, a washing machine and five of XR’s ‘Dirty Scrubbers’ were arrested by thirty brave bobbies and taken into custody. Eyewitness Alex, a filmmaker, said: “It makes the police look like a total joke. The women were clearly in comedy costumes and causing no trouble.
