I've recently returned to my favourite collage technique and I just get high on the freedom it gives. There's no right or wrong. I just follow my intuition. And the result has to please me first of all. I can safely call it my hobby, when the process itself is more important than the result. “Whim-see” this piece marked a real turning point in my longing journey. It started out as an experiment to not overwork my art, which I was doing often at the time. Last week I was thinking about how to promote my book. The publisher who is currently reading it was asking for a marketing plan. This fits to #promoteyourartapril initiated by @inspiredtowrite . To promote the own art feels in some way like asking for help, which is not always easy. It also gives you a feeling of gettin on other people’s nerves. But I suppose one just have to get used to it. At least now I have a plan for my book and I hope this will convince the publisher to jump with me into this rollercoaster of publishing it. Wish me luck! In the exhibition "Mercury Garden", an elementary garden becomes a gender-fluid, organic narrative structure that tells the story of the simultaneity of dangerous and attractive bodies. Decorative elements disassemble into their rhythmic, raw and repetitive components as we approach them, making their inherent danger clear. An aesthetic that can be as brute as it is seductive, full of contradiction and ambivalence.
