God gave instruction to David to pass down to his son, Solomon, the next leader to be King. -------‐---- God will provide for your needs and reveal truth about your heart so you can be a successful leader. He provides resources, people, wisdom, and direction. He reveals when you're wrong, in need of help or in need of change. God never left David. He guided him, corrected him, and protected him. God reveals through David's leadership what He can do through people who believe and put their trust in Him. In this passage, God is encouraging David to pass on the torch to Solomon to stay faithful and to build the temple of the Lord. God is the same then as he is today. He wants to use us to reveal His greater purpose and glory to others. We're all called to lead in some capacity, and eventually, we'll pass the torch to others to lead where we used to. Where are you finding leadership challenging in your current circumstance? How can you reflect on God's character for hope to lead better? David was a victorious and successful king in his time. Yet, he still fell short due to his pride and sinful desires. However, true repentance is always accepted by God. David writes in Psalm 51:1-2, "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin." And in v10, "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." With authentic repentance, any failure in leadership can be redeemed by God. There's no such thing as a perfect leader. Anytime you see a great leader or admire their qualities... they're most likely as aware of their weaknesses as they are their strengths. Don't strive for perfection in your own performance. Rather, strive to elevate people around you by pointing them to the grace of God. He is our perfect leader we look to. ▪︎▪︎ Are we doing the work God has called us to do? The back story of this scripture is about God pointing out to Zerubbabel and Joshua that the time to rebuild His temple was right then, and goes further to show them why things weren't working out they way they should because they were putting off doing His work. (I encourage you to read the book of Haggai. It's just 2 chapters long and shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to complete). In the beginning God intended for us to work, you can see how He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden and told them to tend to the garden and eat of the land, but despite this, the greatest work that He ever assigned to man is "His work" - furthering His kingdom, but how? I know we all have jobs of some sort, but the scripture today is a call to focus on God's work by rebuilding His spiritual temple, so His work can be accomplished here on earth. What or where is that spiritual temple? Well according to 1 Corithians 6:19 "Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit" so this is a call to work on us, and He assures us that He will give us the right words to speak or actions to do in order to draw others to His saving knowledge and a relationship with Him. So what can I do? Spend time with God in the Word (reading the Bible) and through prayer. Dear friends, regardless of whatever you do for a living, this is "the work" God has called you to do, bringing others to Him. My prayer today is that you would lean in so our Heavenly Father can revel to you how He wants you to do "the work" He has called you to, and that you will be encouraged to go out daily and fulfill your purpose. Today’s God’s Word *Be strong and courageous* When we are losing hope, when we are stuck in the middle of a storm, we hear words like strong, courage, and hope. In today’s promise, we see the context as Joshua taking up the role to lead the Israelites after Moses. Lord was clearing away all his doubts, fears by this promise - Do not be terrified. In a running race which goes in circles, the first one takes the baton and hands it over to the next person who’s ready to run the next part of the race. Here after Moses, the authority to carry the baton was given to Joshua. Joshua has got a comforting message from God. God reminded Joshua about the things which He already told him. From the very start, it’s not been easy, but from the very beginning, I knew I had to try my best, and I did. 🩷🙏🏼🏇 Since having Winter brought into my life, it’s been an absolute roller coaster of emotions and a ton of money invested, but he’s been one of the biggest joys and blessings to ever happen to me. Having you all by my side has truly kept me going and made this so fun. 🩷 After Winters last race, the decision has been made to geld him and see if that helps to settle him. He busts outta that gate like a crazy wild banshee, using all his energy and leaving nothing in the tank to finish strong…So we’re hoping this will help to improve his performance and give him more opportunity. Once he has the procedure, he’ll likely race again 6 weeks later, to give the kid time to heal and get his head on right. 🐴 As I’ve always said, no matter what happens, we’re winners! And he sure wins for looking the best on race day! Always looking sharp and so handsome! Winter overcame so much from his birth that no one believed he’d ever even make it to the track. And although his performances haven’t been as great as I’d envisioned, just seeing him on his race days has been a huge victory! Many may see his races and say “I told you so”, and that’s fine, but I had a dream and went for it as best as I could. I’ve given Winter the best of everything and spare no expense to give him every opportunity for success, just as I’d do if he was a human child. He became a Racehorse! I’m so proud of him, and myself! I’m not sure what the future holds, as I would love to see him have more time to grow and develop into himself as a racehorse, but no matter what happens, this boy is all heart and I know he will do great things, and I hope he continues to inspire people. 🏇🩷 I anticipate his next race will be in about 6 weeks at Los Al again, but I’ll keep you all posted. The two emotions experienced are often mistaken for the other. Fear fascinates us, drawing us to it, confusing it with love. Love frightens us, we run away and try to hide from it, afraid to commit to it, afraid of ultimately losing it. Emotional expressions are opposite to what they are. We attack when we need love, and love when we are attacked, unconsciously desiring punishment. We project self-hatred onto others, seeing only 'our' hatred in their image blinds us to the truth of who they really are. Our realities are filled with invited fearful images making it difficult to recognize love. We feel alone in our reality, separated from others, no one with whom to communicate. Even though we appear to see with physical eyes, in truth there is nothing to see, we hear things but there is no sound. The mind is confused, lost in a mental fog in a world filled with illusions; afraid to dare to see things differently. "God calls you and you do not hear, for you are preoccupied with your own voice. And the vision of Christ is not in your sight, for you look upon yourself alone." (6:6-7) Loving Souls; You are never alone!
