Last week I had the absolute pleasure of capturing an extremely special event, whereby Bollinger launched their latest addition to their champagne family, their La Grande Année 2015 and its rosè counterpart, for an exclusive guest list of their top customers. This was hosted by the impeccable Langdale Chase Hotel on Lake Windermere, who served up some of the most intricate and decadent plates of food I have ever seen - all of which perfectly complemented the champagne pairing of each course. The day was filled with the hottest sunshine Iv experienced this year, the nicest guests, fantastic staff, and the most gracious hosts - who kindly gifted me a bottle of their rosè, along with a a little goody bag. 📍 Martindale Horseshoe, Lake District 🥾 Back in the lakes after ticking off some 2024 hiking goals (Ben Nevis, Snowdon) and what better way to do it than bagging 10 new Wainwrights! 💪🏻 This set is from our Saturday hike round the Martindale Horseshoe, a 24km circular route around the Eastern Fells. Relentless uphill early on, and then gradually ascending to 780m where you’re rewarded with beautiful views of Ullswater lake down the valley from the top. 👨👩👦🐶 What does it mean when a company says that they’re a family business? It means feeding a baby on one arm whilst taking a call from suppliers on the other! 🤳🏻👶 It means dividing the workshop into a crèche and doggy day care centre (as many of you who’ve visited might have seen) 🤣 It means getting a child settled at night and then opening the laptop to answer emails and queries late into the evening! Today it meant picking our little one up from nursery and heading straight out onto local deliveries before having a windswept run about on the beach! 🌊 And then attending a school tea party in between meetings in the afternoon! 😅 It means Emily bouncing a Robin on her knee when mum and dad need 10 mins to finish a zoom!
