Today = ABSOLUTE #GAMECHANGER, one of the BEST DAYS I've had, EVER. I'm STUNNED. The anonymous kindness of an AMAZING person who, if we are compatible, has INSISTED I get a TRUE RESET; complete erasure of my WORST health issue. He doesn't want pay or praise or my attention, he doesn't want A THING. With ZERO STRINGS ATTACHED & 100% aware - it's VERY risky, knowing he WILL become #diabetic after... if we are a good match, he INSISTS, he isn't asking, I get his HEALTHY #PANCREAS. WOW. Yes, you read that correctly. A person who says this is just #fanlove (but this isn't a FAN, really; anyone I talk with is already a friend& that word's always been weird to me) did not ask but INSISTS that, SANS pay/press/help with the medical bills, a single THING, doesn't even mind if we never meet, knowing VERY well the ENORMOUS risks, he wants to be sure I get a fair chance at a good, long life. Boy, we made a super impact on people last season. TSR was not playing any games, taking names (some I forgot 🤣) and obviously not making any friends. Well this season while we have a lot of new faces; mostly developing young athletes (except 16u boys who are some MONSTAS!) We took a series of L’s from people we scorched last year. Growing up, our world is severely limited. Our relationship with our parents dictates our well-being and we haven’t yet developed the tools to objectively evaluate our family and its emotional dynamics. Considering how dependent, vulnerable, and impressionable children are, we can imagine how badly things can go when the parental role falls in the wrong hands. Take narcissism, for instance. A narcissistic parent—driven by self-interest—might organize the entire family around their emotional needs, neglecting and scarring their children in distinct and complicated ways.Identifying and defining abusive behavior empowers people to learn from it, grow, and move past it. If you have spent your childhood in the shadow of a narcissistic parent, you may identify with at least one of the following dysfunctional parent-child dynamics. 1. The “Golden Child” This parent-child relationship has a strong transactional component. In this scenario, one child is favored and loved-bombed by their parent—if and only if they conform to the conditions levied on them. From the outside, it may look like your narcissistic parent fawns over you and pampers you frequently. However, it is only the “golden child” who understands what it takes to remain perched on this pedestal their parent put them on. For instance, when the golden child performs well academically, a narcissistic parent might be inclined to reward them disproportionately and boast about their achievements to everyone around. The problem arises when the golden child slips up—typically incurring an unwarranted amount of discipline, ridicule, and punishment. Most of the research on self-affirmation has focused on experimental manipulations,” said study author Muireann K. @bostonmarathonuk 3:00:16 I was really wanting to PB today. I was bang on track but the conditions really took it out me in the last 10km. I felt strong and was ready to push for the finish. I turned a corner to face a head wind then the rain came on hard. I didn’t give up on the race, I stayed positive and ran as hard I could right to the end. Although the time wasn’t what I wanted I’m proud of the performance because my head was right start to finish and I don’t think I could have went any faster. Seen runners take some really nasty slips, a really bad fall, folk dropping out and the most amount of medical attention I’ve ever seen at a road event. So to be typing this warm, dry and sore lying on the couch I feel completely relaxed with my time and placing. After a poor Amsterdam race I wanted to have a right good go at today and that’s what I’ve done. I’ve learned so much the past few months. Out a run with my coach @sbf_scottbrown made me realise I’m to kind to myself on the long run and I don’t think I’m working hard enough, that is something I intend to fix in the next block!
