An amazing Dolomites view that's famous for good reason! Seeing this view of the Cadini di Misurina was definitely a bucket list moment, but I wasn't necessarily expecting the whole day of hiking in that area to be just as incredible! Got a little taste of a via ferrata hiking part of the Alta Via 4 from Rifguio Fonda Savio to the viewpoint and then on to Rifguio Auronzo and beyond with views of the Tre Cime. If you just have a day to visit this area, you can drive up to Rifguio Auronzo, check out the Cadini viewpoint, and hike out to Rifguio Lavaredo or Dreizenhutte for more great views of Tre Cime. DAY16 HALDENHOF - BASELBLICKHÜTTE 26km: EN: After the summit, the long descent begins: over the next 10 kilometers, the Westweg loses more than 700 meters in altitude, passing the mystical hut at Hexenplatz and the idyllic ruins of Sausenburg Castle before reaching the town of Kandern. Here I cooled off with an ice cream and crossed the Wolfsschlucht gorge with its bizarre rock formations. I had finally arrived in the Markgräfler Land. DE: Nach dem Gipfel begann der lange Abstieg: auf den nächsten 10 Kilometern verlor der Westweg über 700 Höhenmeter und passiert dabei die mystische Hütte am #hexenplatz und die idyllische Burgruine #sausenburg , bevor der Ort #kandern erreicht wird. Hier kühlte ich mich mit einer Eiscreme ab und durchquerte die #wolfsschlucht mit ihren bizarren Gesteinsformationen. DAY16 HALDENHOF - BASELBLICKHÜTTE 26km: EN: The next day, the bad weather and the many clouds of the previous days had finally cleared and I started the penultimate day on the Westweg in the warm light of the September sun. Between me and the trailhead in Basel there were now a good 46km and the 1,146m high summit of the „Blauen“. The ascent was not too difficult and so at lunchtime I was able to enjoy the incredible and this time cloud-free view over the southern Black Forest. DE: Am nächsten Tag hatte sich das schlechte Wetter und die vielen Wolken der vorherigen Tage endgültig verzogen und ich startete im warmen Licht der Septembersonne in den vorletzten Tag auf dem Westweg. Το Σάββατο 20/04/2024 ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτυχία το “1ο Spetses Paths Festival”, στον προαύλιο χώρο του @magus_spetses της ΑΚΣΣ. Μετά την περσινή συνεργασία τα @greekpathsofculturespetses, το @communitytrustspetses, η ομάδα του Λευτέρη Παρασκευά με την @travelbaregr και το @the_love_van ενώθηκαν ξανά για να διοργανώσουν μια ημέρα γιορτής των μονοπατιών λίγο πριν την έναρξη της τουριστικής σεζόν, πεζοπορώντας μια εύκολη κυκλική διαδρομή (Ν0.11χάρτη) προς το Θεατράκι - Αστεροσκοπείο με έντονο ενδιαφέρον και φυσικής ομορφιάς. Στο τέλος της διαδρομής μας υποδέχθηκε η ομάδα του Τhe Love Van με ζεστό φαγητό που το είχαν μαγειρέψει με τα παιδιά, οι μερίδες που περίσσεψαν προσφέρθηκαν στο Γηροκομείο Σπετσών. Ευχαριστούμε από καρδιάς τους συμμετέχοντες και όλους τους φορείς που συνετέλεσαν να πραγματοποιηθεί αυτή η δράση. On Saturday 20/04/2024, the "1st Spetses Paths Festival" was successfully completed, in the courtyard of the Magus Caffe Foundation of Anargyrios & Korgialenios School of Spetses. After last year's collaboration the Greek Paths of Culture Spetses, the Community Trust Spetses, Lefteris Paraskeva's team with Travel Bare and The Love Van reunited to organize a day of celebration of the paths just before the start of the tourist season season, hiking an easy circular route (N0.11 map) to the Theatraki - Observatory of intense interest and natural beauty. At the end of the route, The Love Van team welcomed us with hot food that they had cooked with the children, the leftover portions were offered to the Spetses Nursing Home. One of my absolute favorite hikes in the Dolomites was the section of the Alta Via 1 going south from Passo Giau to Forcella Ambrizzolla - then I turned north and went to Rifguio Croda da Lago to spend the night (before hiking out to the bus to Cortina di Ampezzo). C’est parti (pour de vrai) ! Nous avons quitté Syracuse pour rejoindre le point le plus au sud de la Sicile : Portopalo Di Capo Passero. Après 1h40 de bus, notre premier jour de marche commence, en douceur : environ 11km. Le chemin, non balisé, nous fait passer par la route (ce qu’on préfère 🥲) et le sable. C’est beau ! Hiking the Path of the Gods on the Amalfi coast last April was one of my absolute favorite experiences in Italy - totally stunning views the whole way, and if you start at the top it's all downhill! Even better, start around sunrise and then you not only get to enjoy the early morning light and less crowded trail... You also get to enjoy breakfast in Positano when you finish! 🥐☕ I stayed two nights in the hilltop town of Agerola, which is maybe a 30-45 minute bus ride from some of the more popular parts of the Amalfi coast, but is lovely on its own and also has 2 key advantages: price, and you're right near the start of the Path of the Gods trail!
