At 10 years, my daughter knows the truth about the Easter Bunny, but still loves a good chocolate hunt. This year she hunted for puzzle pieces that revealed where the eggs were hiding. Making this puzzle took me a really long time, but as the rain fell for the entirety of Good Friday, the kitchen table was covered in all the pencils, makers, paints, and pastels I could find, and Anna and I created together. I worked behind a book wall to keep the puzzle a secret, while Anna drew cute bunnies. This moment provided the ultimate joy. I then made a little keepsake box for her puzzle pieces, and wrote an important reminder on the bottom. She has another wooden name puzzle but it's still a little fiddly for her little fingers so this is a great starting block. I'm sure anyone who follows will know it's really important to have one capital letter at the start (I cannot tell you how many children come to reception trying to write their name in all capitals) and letters formed correctly. 🧩 Puzzle na paličkách 🧩 ➡️ Vytlačiť alebo nakresliť ľubovoľný obrázok, nalepiť zozadu drevené paličky (lekárske, od nanuku..) a po zaschnutí rozstrihať. Použila som nejaké random tekuté lepidlo zo šuflíka. 🤷♀️ ➡️ Aktivita sa dá využiť k akejkoľvek téme, ktorá u vás práve frčí (autá, princezné, kvietky, zvieratká, vesmír...). U nás si ideme tému safari a chýbal nám v aktivitách obľúbený pakôň. 🐃 ➡️ Dôležité je zvoliť vhodný počet paličiek. The Tile Puzzle So how do you organize 9 pallets - 225 M2 - 2,400 SqFt - of mixed tiles that you want slightly less mixed once installed? I took a photo of each unique tile and recorded the quantity we found. Using InDesign I made pages full of scaled down tiles, about 1/2” square, printed them, and glued them to cardstock. We also printed enlarged floor plans with tile grids set up - two sizes for the two sizes of tiles. And now we are working on the Tile Puzzle together on the dining room table! What you see laid out here from right to left is the large entry foyer (where the bikes get parked), the living room, and the courtyard. For a sense of scale, each patch in the foyer is four matching 8” tiles together. The larger patches in the courtyard are four 10” tiles together. The printer skewed the colors slightly blue and washed out but you get the idea!

🌈 DIY Color Wheel Puzzle 🌈 . We are studying color mixing this month and let me rant for a minute... With current toy trends rainbows and aesthetics abound, you would expect a color wheel wooden puzzle to exist right?! . You would be wrong. . I searched high and low and the only one I could find is in one of Lovevery play kits... You could probably make a paper one pretty easily, but I wanted something sturdier. Felt wasn't ideal because then you'd have to source the exact right colors. So paint seemed like the obvious choice. But before I could paint we had to figure out how to cut a decahedron (12-sided octagon), And while it was not impossible. It took some math. . Then enter the struggles of getting the appropriate colors mixed. If you've studied any kind of color theory, you'll know it's not as easy as one part this to one part that, and then there's the whole issue of red. It never blends quite right... . All this to say that while it is a fairly easy project, requiring basic tools and not a ton of time. It's not for the faint of heart! 😂 . So after that glowing recommendation... 💙 Cardboard Easter Puzzle 💙 I made this giant egg puzzle to be part of our Easter Hunt on Sunday. Each piece will be hidden around the garden and once found the littles will need to assemble it to receive a set of riddled clues to where some little treasures are hidden!! (remember our painted rocks 😆) I did two layers of cardboard and left a few strips in place so there is a bit of an obvious 'spot' for the pieces so it was not to difficult for the littles. Our puzzle is inspired by the amazing tetris egg puzzle @saraandmatildadothings made and also an egg coding puzzle by @maman_mais_pas.seulement Check them out for brilliant Easter ideas!! The littles test run the puzzle yesterday when I finished it and really really love it.
