•LILAC PAINTING• We’ve seen so many gorgeous Lilacs popping up all over the place so we took some inspiration from them and Lilac did her very own, Lilac themed art project. I let her independently paint shades of purple & green onto thick paper with brushes, sponges & her hands and she had a wonderful time getting stuck in! Once her painted paper had dried, I used a flower shaped hole punch to cut out lots of pretty flowers which Lilac enjoyed sticking down on another piece of paper. I cut some green branches, leaves and attached all the pieces together to make these beautiful decorations. A bit of a different take on @featherandleafco and @mypixiesatplay #beeextravaganzaplay However, I've wanted to do some outdoor painting with the boys for a while, so I figured why not. I've seen the tape resist around a bit recently, and Mr. 4 did an Easter craft with it at Kinder, so he was pretty keen to do it again and help peel it off. 🚙 Painted car tracks 🚗 I did this on a whim today and they loved it SO MUCH. Threw down some packing paper I’d saved from some packages, squirted down some paint and had them pick out some cars. Then the magic happened. It was a rainbow of tire tracks! They had races, they mixed colors, they added more paint, and then more cars. When we were all done? Nu știu alții cum sunt, dar eu am avut o bucată bună de vreme în care îl întrebam pe David ce vrea să facem și mă rugam în gând sa nu zică: Să pictăm! Please don’t judge! Uram să scot paletele, să pun culori pe paletă, să umplu paharul cu apă, să scot foile, pensulele și un milion de alte lucruri, ca la final, el să tragă O DUNGĂ pe foaie și gata. Apoi zăceau toate, cu zilele pe masă, că cine mai avea chef de strâns? Acuarelele se uscau, borcanul cu apă se mai vărsa, o nebunie. Când mi-am făcut proiectele pentru cursul de educatoare Waldorf, am avut nevoie să pictez mult ud pe ud, așa că am pus in funcțiune un nou sistem: 3 borcane cu culorile primare și unul cu apă, fiecare cu capacul lui, toate veșnic pe masă. Au stat amândoi copiii pe lângă mine atunci și au pictat/s-au jucat cu apa. Și am realizat cât e de ușor așa. Doar iei pensula și o foaie, deschizi borcanele, pui apă curată și, cum zice Aida, “ta-daaaa”. Când termini, închizi borcanele și asta e tot. Ca să nu mai zic că așa a descoperit și David ce-i cu culorile primare și secundare, ce se întâmplă când le combini și cum a apărut MOVUL, această culoare supremă😅 Așa-i că acum ai un plan pentru borcanele ‘celea de iaurt? 😄 Cu plăcere! 💚🩷 Blow Paint Aliens 🩷💚 Okay, so this was not initially as straight forward as I may have thought. Jude sucked the straw, slobbered down the straw and blew everywhere except the paint…but, after some practice we created these lovely little creatures! If you’re planning on having a go, do a little straw blowing practice! 😂 We mixed paint and water, one part paint to two parts water, then used a pipette to drip the paint onto the paper. Happy March 1st. Today we made a shamrock using our dot painters and I think it turned out super cute. All that is needed is paper, one cut into the shape of a shamrock, tape (preferably blue painters) and dot markers or paint and a round sponge or cotton ball. Tape shamrock to paper, let your child paint and then remove the shamrock to reveal. Cute and simple. Since Easter fall in the same month as St. Patrick’s days I will be focusing more on Easter this month. Our first collaboration. Took the bub to a family art workshop @morrisgallery today where we could make flags that represent us. At 2 years old he lacks the capacity to understand what we’re doing but he’s very much able to hold a paint brush and play about. He chose the colours he wanted to paint and managed to add some splotches. It looked like a bird to me so I worked over it, developing the design. With a nod to his Scottish heritage, I made a foam stamp in the shape of an X, stamping it 3x to represent me, him and his dad. It’s fascinating watching the way he works, so very free, and how it contrasts with the fear the students I teach exhibit. Soft green mood. #eucalyptusmood . Today we are exploring stamping. We used those nice stencils, usually used for decorating coffee, and a washcloth tied in a bun. While it was fun to try and my little one enjoyed creating simple wavy lines, she is more used to painting with brushes and adding animals to the mix, so she soon moved to that. 🦋Butterfly 3D Wood and Paint Project 🎨 This was such a cool craft from @crazycraftssa It took us 3 days to complete which was such a cool way to allow Ainsley to realize not all crafts can be completed all at once. I do like this cold frosty weather. The garden looked so pretty first thing and this afternoon I planted the last of my bulbs! Sweetpeas to be sorted tomorrow and then maybe some decorations! I'm busy making spiced red cabbage to go in the freezer for Christmas and a party we are having with neighbours the week before. It's making the house smell of Christmas! Yesterday I did painting with a little One and a two. They were so so good and concentrated so hard. Lots of good painting of salt dough, hands, faces, me etc. now it's over to mummy to sort out ties and glitter! Next week we are making crackers. This week's focus on Pete the Cat by Eric Litwin and James Dean was a lot of fun! Jane loved the rhythm of the book and had fun exploring colour words. For an extra dose of fun, we decided to make boot paint prints! We used yellow and pink and talked about what Jane might have stepped in to add colour to her boots. How did we do it? 🖌️ Rolled out large paper (I bought a roll at Staples a couple years ago). 🖌️ Used two flat containers big enough for Jane's boots and added paint to each. 🖌️ Helped Jane step each container. Added a little extra paint with a paintbrush if needed. 🖌️ Let her go!! 👻 ghostly prints 👻 This morning we’ve been making a picture of some ghosts. We used some cream paint (I didn’t have white) and toilet roll tubes to stamp ghosts onto the paper. They found it really easy and enjoyed stamping it over and over again. Once it was dry we added some googly eyes.
