I am so excited to show my new works for my first ever Solo exhibition at Lisson Gallery London @lisson_gallery Since I joined the gallery in March 2023 this is the first time a range of my work is blending with the light of 27 Bell street space. I feel the works have found a space that brings out the underlying tones and hues that I could not see in my studio. If in London do pass by. Thanks to the Oga at the top @wimvandongen56 and my dear friend @dromarkholeif and amazing collaborators Stef Miero, Hester Onijs, Juan Carlos Inesta and Michal Grzemski A bit about the work For her inaugural exhibition with Lisson Gallery, Otobong Nkanga presents new sculptural objects, tapestries and a sound installation, as well as wall-hung and floor-based works – combining materials as diverse as clay, rope, glass, wood, textiles, oils and herbs. As an evocation of natural environments, Nkanga incorporates the images and properties of various stones and minerals into a new, monumental carpet, while towers of raku-fired ceramics create intermittent forests of scorched tree trunks. Die Ingelheimer GRÜNEN rufen alle Bürger*innen dazu auf, sich der geplanten Kundgebung der rechten Kleinstpartei "Die Rechte" und der „Kameradschaft Rheinhessen“ am 1. Mai 2023 entgegenzustellen. Die rechtsradikalen Gruppen versuchen, diesen Feiertag für ihre menschenverachtende Ideologie zu instrumentalisieren. Wir dagegen setzen uns für eine offene, vielfältige und tolerante Gesellschaft ein und treten entschieden gegen rechte Hetze und Gewalt ein. Am 1. Mai um 13:00 Uhr werden wir auf dem Fridtjof-Nansen-Platz bei einer Gegenkundgebung unter dem Motto „Bunter Frühling, Ingelheim bleibt nazifrei“ ein klares Zeichen gegen Hass und Hetze setzen.
