【Jamming】■🇭🇰/🇨🇳 (一つ前の投稿の続きです) それを知るためには九龍寨城の歴史を知る必要があります。 九龍寨城が建てられた土地の起源は宋代にも遡ります。当時は塩の販売が王朝による許可制であったため、塩の販売を監視し取り締まる機関が必要だったため、南シナ海と中国大陸を繋ぐ土地、すなわち現在の香港・九龍半島の地域に白羽の矢が立ちます。 ❋ 清代初期には世界史でおなじみの遷界令が出され、時代の変化を経ながらこの土地が再度南海監視の拠点として注目されるようになりました。 しかしその後、第一次アヘン戦争時には同じ土地に砲台が整備され、香港のお台場として機能していたのですが、清朝の歴史的な敗北と北京条約による香港の対英譲渡によって荒廃し、九龍寨城(城砦)は「無主之城」となってしまいます。 ❋ 時は流れ、香港は日本が統治下に入ります。 日本は飛行場建設のために九龍寨城の城壁を成していた石を持ち出し、九龍寨城はさらに荒廃を見せます。 もはや荒地と化した九龍寨城では学生運動や反英運動が頻発し、イギリス政府も手を焼くようになったため、やがてイギリス政府は九龍寨城内での一切の市民行動に干渉しない方針を示します。 これが、世界史上最悪の治外法権地の誕生の瞬間でした。 ❋ 九龍寨城内ではイギリス、香港、日本のいずれの法律も適用されなくなったことから、九龍寨城はやがてスラム街・薬物市場化し、多くの低所得者が身を寄せることになります。 ❋ 話を戻すと、前述の清朝風建築というのはこの地が台場であった時代の名残ということなのです。 ❋ 現在は簡素な資料館になっているその建物の中に、九龍寨城の当時を伝えるパネルが設置されていました。 時代の流れと並べる形で掲示された各年代の九龍寨城の写真。 1960年代の九龍寨城を伝える部分には、以下のような中国語の文章が書かれていました。 ❋ 自五十年代起，大量毒品如海洛英等，均在寨城加工並輸往全球，加上脫衣舞棚、妓寨、賭館、鴉片煙館及狗肉檔林立，寨城在五六十年代發展為盛極一時的黑暗之城。同時，由於地價相對便宜，寨城西面出現各式工廠，而無牌牙醫診所亦紛紛於寨城內開業，為市民提供廉價服務。 ↓ (50年代以降、九龍寨城ではヘロインなどの大量の麻薬が加工され、世界中に輸出されてきた。加えて寨城内には、ストリップ劇場、売春宿、賭場、アヘン窟、犬肉屋などが立ち並んだ。 行き過ぎた繁栄により、寨城は50〜60年代には暗黒都市に発展した。 また同時に、地価が比較的安かったことから寨城の西側にはさまざまな工場が出現。無認可の歯科医院も開設され、市民に廉価なサービスを提供していた) ❋ 恐ろしすぎる…。 (完) ◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ Photo by @nicholas_capture ◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ Feel free to share! 【Vanishing Hongkong】■🇭🇰/🇨🇳 一つ前の投稿に引き続き、中華人民共和国香港特別行政区は香港島北部の鰂魚涌地区にある怪獸大廈(Monster Building)から。 ❋ 私を含め、こんな風景が好きな人達の聖地と言えば、忘れてはならないのが「九龍寨城」です。 20世紀の香港を代表するこの建築物は、90年代に国家が介入して取り壊されるまで、香港の九龍半島、宋皇臺地区北部に、まるで一つの巨大な生き物であるかのように居座り続け、最盛期であった80年代には推定16階建てとなり、40000人を超える人々の暮らしと500棟を超える違法建築物を擁していたと言われています。 ❋ 香港に到着してすぐ、私は地下鉄でその跡地である九龍寨城公園へ向かいました。 港鐵屯馬綫宋皇臺駅の出口の階段を上がった途端に目に飛び込んできた「これぞ香港」という街並みは、かつて私が小学生の頃に九龍寨城のレジェンドを見聞きして以来ずっと憧れていたもので、剥がれ落ちてもそのまま放置され、誰かが直す気配すら微塵も感じられない外壁やアーケードと一体化した不安定な住宅、工事現場に渡された「竹の足場(→香港では現在でも建物を建設する際の足場として竹が用いられている)」など、見渡すものの限りが香港でしか見られないようなものばかりで、それはそれは見事なものでした。 ❋ 肝心の九龍寨城公園は意外とすぐに見えてきたのですが、これは元々九龍寨城が立っていた敷地だけではなく、その周辺にかつてあったテニスコートなども合わせて新たに整備された公園であるだけに、非常に広大な公園となっていました。 ❋ 公園内にはある一画だけ、石垣と漆喰壁や垣根で囲まれた歪な四角形の土地があったのですが、公園内地図で見れば一目瞭然、この歪な四角形のシルエットはあの、天下に知れた九龍寨城のシルエットと完全に一致するわけです。 ❋ 広大な公園とは裏腹にこの四角形の土地は非常に狭く感じられ、それが逆に、こんなに狭い区画に40000人もの人々が住んでいたのかという、とんでもない好奇心と恐怖心を煽るようでした。 ❋ 入口を入ってすぐの所には清朝様式を思わせる中国風の建物があるのですが、これが他でもない、かつて九龍寨城を構成していた建物の中で唯一保存された建築物とのことです。 とは言え、鰂魚涌の怪獸大廈がそれに代わる、九龍寨城の生き写しと言われるほどです。こんな中国風の建物など、九龍寨城らしくともなんともありません。 一体、九龍寨城のどこにこんな中国風の建物が隠されていたのでしょうか。 (次の投稿に続く) ◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ Photo by @nicholas_capture ◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ Feel free to share! Torre de Belém, Lisboa, Portugal Crédito da Foto a @jeronimojjsantos A Torre de Belém é um monumento tradicional e histórico de Lisboa, como o Castelo de São Jorge em Lisboa. Com 30m de altura, é uma fortificação que se destaca pela sua arquitetura, já que é rodeada por decorações e brasões das armas de Portugal, incluindo inscrições de cruzes da Ordem de Cristo nas janelas.É chamada oficialmente de Torre de São Vicente, e fica afastada do centro turístico de Lisboa, localizada em Belém. A parte externa da Torre de Belém é uma das belezas do monumento, onde se apreciam as influências islâmicas e seu estilo manuelino com vários elementos que fazem alusão à época das navegações.Por dentro a Torre é composta por 5 andares, do mais baixo ao mais alto, eles contam com sala do governador, sala dos reis, sala das audiências, capela e o terraço da torre, de onde se tem uma vista incrível de Lisboa.Tudo é muito bem preservado nesse local histórico. Foi construída entre 1514 e 1520 pelo arquiteto e escultor Francisco de Arruda.Era um projeto de construção defensiva da cidade que surgiu na época de D. João II e era para se chamar Baluarte de São Vicente, sob invocação de São Vicente de Saragoça, padroeiro de Lisboa.A estrutura só começou a ser construída no reinado de Manuel I.O intuito era substituir uma nau artilhada que estava ancorada nas águas do rio Tejo, de onde partiram as frotas para as Índias, e acabou sendo, mais tarde, utilizada como aduaneiro, sinalização telegráfico e como farol.
