Bamburgh #7020339458 0215am, alarm goes off, I bounce out of bed excited after 3 hours of sleep, excited to be going back to one of my all time favourite places in the world. The forecast was promising, high tide was just before the sun broke the horizon, there was only one other person about besides Ricky and myself, there was colour building on the horizon, there was a nice swell on the sea, it was chilly, the water even colder in the bottom of my welly, although Ricky trumped me on that one, as he even had some fishing line in his when he emptied the sea water out, which was delriously funny. It was a magic morning, lovely light broke through, probably some of the best light I've seen here in a very long time, Bamburgh really never disappoints, but the sky was relatively cloudless, which is one of my many many bugbears in landscape photography. It was a great morning out, I loved every single minute of it, but it was a morning to be there rather than to create magic photos. Nice yes, magic? Nah, not in the slightest! 今回フォトワールドカップ2024ファイナルに進出している写真、こんな感じで撮影をしています！！改めて見ると、いつも説明してるより近いですね（笑  クジラを寄せる禅のリラックス法。クジラはとにかく敏感でこちらが「こわい！」という思いやビビった時の動作、逆に「捕まえてやろう！」というような覇気にとても敏感。大切なのは極限のリラックス、例えここまで近接されようとも水に身を任せて安定した呼吸で心と体を常に整えておきます。そこに生まれる一瞬を作品に残していくのです。フリーダイビングのトレーニングや滝行の中で身につけた私独自のものになりますが日常生活からビジネスシーン、そしてもちろん撮影中までかなり使えるものです。よくどうやるのか聞かれるので、またいつのタイミングがこれは写真とは別にトレーニングプログラムを組んでもいいかもしれません（笑 I've been shooting photos for the World Photo Cup finals like this! Looking at them again, it's closer to what I usually describe :) The Zen method of attracting whales involves ultimate relaxation. Whales are incredibly sensitive to our emotions and movements, especially if we feel scared or exhibit a vibe of trying to capture them. The key is to achieve extreme relaxation, even if approached closely, allowing the body to blend with the water while maintaining steady breathing and keeping both mind and body in harmony. These fleeting moments are what I capture in my works. This technique, honed through my free diving training and waterfall meditation, has become unique to me. It's incredibly useful not only in daily life and business scenarios but obviously during shoots as well. I’m on the train reading Dorian Gray as no one quite captures an English springtime like Oscar Wilde, so here’s some pretty pictures of an orchard owned by no one that me and @leightonjamesknowles took a break at during our ten mile ramble the other day, and also the first paragraphs of the first chapter so you can enjoy the scents and sights of spring here with us ✨ The studio was filled with the rich odour of roses, and when the light summer wind stirred amidst the trees of the garden, there came through the open door the heavy scent of the lilac, or the more delicate perfume of the pink-flowering thorn. From the corner of the divan of Persian saddle-bags on which he was lying, smoking, as was his custom, innumerable cigarettes, Lord Henry Wotton could just catch the gleam of the honey-sweet and honey-coloured blossoms of a laburnum, whose tremulous branches seemed hardly able to bear the burden of a beauty so flamelike as theirs; and now and then the fantastic shadows of birds in flight flitted across the long tussore-silk curtains that were stretched in front of the huge window, producing a kind of momentary Japanese effect, and making him think of those pallid, jade-faced painters of Tokyo who, through the medium of an art that is necessarily immobile, seek to convey the sense of swiftness and motion. The sullen murmur of the bees shouldering their way through the long unmown grass, or circling with monotonous insistence round the dusty gilt horns of the straggling woodbine, seemed to make the stillness more oppressive.
