#onescavengerschallenge "live action" I think it's time I shared a very real (read: not real) story of 3 times I was cut out of a Star Wars show or film. The first being The Force Awakens, then The Rise of Skywalker, and lastly, a cameo in Andor. So when the gang first get to Maz's Castle, Han was supposed to ask where Maz was, and I was going to come out. There was a scrubbed b plot that someone was trying to kill Maz, and she was using a decoy. I was to then lead them to the real Maz. This was completely deleted even from the behind the scenes stuff. No one even talks about it. On Rise, I knew something was amiss when every time I was on screen with Poe and Finn, one of them would say, "You go on ahead. We'll be right behind you." So I would walk off screen, delivering the lines I was told to deliver, and they would stay there for a while. It wasn't until much later that I realized I wasn't mic'd, and not a single camera was pointed at me. I also then realized I was never there. The third time this happened to me was on the set of Andor. It was a scene, cut for pacing, set on Niamos. Before being arrested, I was to have a frank conversation with Cassian about not ever going to Scarif. He expressed interest in seeing the planet, and I sternly warned him something in my gut told me it was a bad idea. In retrospect, this was rightfully cut as it doesn't make much sense to have this conversation with him at this moment, and the fact I was never actually there also plays a big part. There you have it. 3 times I was justifiably cut out of Star Wars projects... mostly because I was never in them. Thanks! One of the many reasons I love the Sequel Trilogy is because of the themes of the films. These are the big themes of each respective film in the Sequel Trilogy. They're not the only themes presented in the Sequels but they're the big ones. The Sequels really understood what made Star Wars special in the first place and have the magic of Star Wars, one of the things that's magical about Star Wars is its themes. These themes can be applied to reality, even though it comes from a fictional franchise, a piece of entertainment, it can still be applied to real life because sometimes art speaks to reality. Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back was like a "real" teacher to me when I was little despite being a fictional character and the Sequels captured that same thing for me where the characters can teach you something that can be applied to real life. Don't get too attached to the past, keep moving forward because you have a future. It's ok to fail, failure can be the greatest teacher and you can learn from your mistakes. And blood doesn't define family, it doesn't define who you are, your actions do. I ❤️ the Sequel Trilogy. Side note: I love how Yoda taught Luke a valuable lesson on Ahch-To in TLJ & then Luke taught Rey a valuable lesson in TROS. Daniel José Older’s ‘Battle of Jedha’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ——— In the second volume of phase 2’s ‘High Republic Adventures’, Older wraps up Sav Malagan’s journey. As the Battle of Jedha rages, Sav struggles to keep her identity secret from the Dank Graks as she tries to free Maz Kanata. But as things progress, she will have to decide between her duty to the Force or her loyalty to her friends. I love how many different perspectives of the Battle of Jedha we get throughout phase 2. This one is particularly fun and chaotic, and puts a bit of a more lighthearted spin on the situation but also connects in with characters and moments we saw in other stories, like Shilandra Sho and the Eirami ambassador. Back on Takodana, we get to see Sav growth as she learns to trust her own abilities as a Jedi but also the help of her friends as they take down Arkik Von. As always with these comics, I enjoy having a bit of a lighter, more humorous break from some of the heavy material in the rest of the series. I think Older always does such a great job with that. Daniel José Older’s ‘Padawan… or Pirate!’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ——— This first volume of the phase 2 High Republic Adventures introduce us to a young Sav Malagan, who you may remember from phase 1. As a Padawan on Takodana, she has been training to become a Jedi and understand the Force. But she also yearns for more adventure, and finds opportunities to hang around the outlaws at the infamous Maz Kanata’s castle. By chance, she finds herself going undercover as a member of Maz’s crew to help stop a group of dark Force users. Full of familiar faces like Maz Kanata, Dexter Jettster (in all his mustached glory), and Tera Sinube, as well as a whole cast of new fun characters, this was a nice, entertaining read that balances excitement and humor with some of the darker tones of the High Republic. I find Older to do this very well in everything I’ve read of his, and I think he is such a great author for this stories aimed at a slightly younger audience. But regardless of who this may be for, I enjoyed it nonetheless and found myself laughing throughout! Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Geschichten aus einer weit weit entfernten Galaxis: Spezies 1 Die Star-Wars-Galaxis ist voll von verrückten Aliens und unterschiedlichen Spezies. Diese Vielfalt ehrt das vorliegende Buch nicht nur mit einem unglaublich langen Titel, sondern auch mit einer Fülle lustiger kleiner Erzählungen. Die Handlung: Der Rote Korsar und seine Crew jagen Dookus verlorenen Schatz. Constable Zuvio sorgt für Ordnung auf Jakku. Maz Kanatas Koch deckt einen Mord auf und vieles mehr... Meine Meinung: Aus meiner Sicht sind es die umfangreichen Hintergründe und die kleinen Geschichten, die die Galaxis zusammenhalten.
