If you want to watch a creepy home invasion thriller... Skip: The Purge (2013). This film crafts a brilliant dystopian premise of a new political party taking charge of America and allowing all crime to be legal for one night, only to immediately toss it aside because the premise only exists to justify why the family under siege can't just call the police. From that point on the film indulges in pretty tired horror movie cliches and indulges in incredibly shallow class commentary. On the positive side, all the the rest of the films in the franchise live up to the potential of the broad premise and are much better films. Watch Instead: Us (2019). The terrifying second film directed by Jordan Peele. A ordinary family's home is invaded the by malevolent doppelgangers known as the Tethered. Lupita Nyongo gives a performance that she should have been nominated for. En la película destaca una espectacular Lupita Nyong'o, la cual tiene muchísimos matices, ya que aborda dos personajes, mientras que, por otra parte, Winston Duke está por debajo de su compañera, teniendo cierto tono cómico que hace que el film pierda puntos. La película cuenta con algunas escenas con bastante sangre, lo cual es de agradecer, si te gusta el terror. Eso sí, en contra punto, tengo que decir, que su explicación final no era necesaria del todo, ya que se entiende con la que te dan minutos antes. The movie had a budget of 20 million dollars whilst being produced but was a huge critical and commercial success grossing a whopping 265 million dollars! The film follows a woman and her family who are attacked whilst on vacation by a group of menacing doppelgangers - called the 'Tethered'. Now this movie is strange, has hidden meanings and very unsettling scenes throughout which I really like, can you imagine being face to face with a sinister copy of yourself and your family?! Utterly terrifying in my eyes and I've always found anything to do with doppelgangers fascinating. I also like movies that start the story off with a 'past' scene that then cuts to the present and begins the story while also adding little snippets of the 'past' in again, it's always keeps me engaged putting the puzzle pieces together! This movie has alot of underlying meanings that the viewers can interpret in many different ways and has some great cinematography that gives you the sense of dread & fear in this horror movie. I wouldn't say it's scary in the sense it will make you jump out of your skin but will definitely give you an uneasy feeling and is a thrilling watch imo. I know it’s cliche to say by now, but ‘Monkey Man’ really does feel like the Indian ‘John Wick’, and in a very self aware fashion, they even name drop Wick in this, which did make me chuckle. I was very excited for this, and it pretty much delivered what I wanted out of it, bloody action scenes. Taking place in Indian, it centers around Kid, an unlikely hero who emerges from prison to take on a world enmeshed in corporate greed and eroding spiritual values, seeking revenge from those who took everything from him many years ago. This was a clear passion project for Dev Patel, as he co-wrote, directed and plays the lead, and he deserves to be proud of himself because all the years he put into it paid off. First off his acting, it’s no surprise that Dev gave a fantastic performance, he fully committed himself to get into fantastic shape and doing the necessary training to be believable in the action scenes (although the broke his hand and toes). Where he really shines is when displaying how Kid’s childhood trauma of the night his life changed when his mom was killed still haunts him. Those episodes of flashbacks cause him to have violent rages, and at times moments of fantastic facial acting where he says all he needs to with just his eyes. . . The direction and the choreography on the action/fight scenes were outstanding just balls to the wall entertaining bare knuckle action that felt so gritty and just pump up your adrenaline. The training montage of Kid preparing for the final fight was so motivational, having all the classic tropes I love of them. While not fully in love with the bigger story, I did find intrigue in what he had to say about Indian politics as well are handling faith and religion in a delicate non offensive way. The soundtrack had some bangers inwas vibing with such as The Devil is a Lie, and 151 Rum, while the sound mixing did a great job capturing the violence and bones breaking. Pitobash is a scene stealer as Kid’s sidekick Alphonso, just great energy and some truly hilarious one liners. . CONTINUED IN THE COMMENTS

Us (2019) 4K UHD review Biz (2019) 4K UHD inceleme Jordan Peele’ın Get Out filminden sonra yaptığı yine alt metne sahip güzel bir film. Bazılarına göre Get Out’tan daha iyi bazılarına göre daha kötü (bende Get Out’a göre zayıf buluyorum). 4K formatında bu filmi izlediğimde beni mutlu etti çünkü disklere sırayla bakınca çoğu "Upscale" 4K UHD blu-ray disklere göre daha iyi bir netliği var. İzlerken özellikle ince detaylara dikkat ederseniz (saç telleri, kum taneleri, yüz noktaları vb.) fark ediceksinizdir. HDR uyumu ile renkler çok daha canlı hale gelmiş ve karanlık detaylarının yoğun olduğu sahneler göze çok güzel geliyor. Orijinal İngilizce dilinde 7.1 ses sunarken Türkçe dublaj olarak 5.1 ses sunuyor. İkisi de kaliteli ama tabii ki hem altyazı izleyicisi olarak hem de dışardan bir göz olarak bakıcak olursak 5.1 ve 7.1 ses seçenekleri arasındaki fark bu filmde çok büyük ve başarılı. Ek bilgi olarak: Türkçe altyazı ve dublaj seçenekli hali sadece Almanya’da çıkmıştır ama Universal baskıların genelinde zaten cover çift taraflı yapılıyor ve böylelikle en azından FSK yazısız kullanabiliyoruz. Genel olarak sevdiğim bir 4K UHD blu-ray oldu. J’ai loupé l’occasion de voir ce film au cinéma, j’ai donc tout de suite réparé cette méprise lorsqu’il est sorti sur netflix. J’ai beaucoup aimé. L’histoire de fond est sympa et sans grande originalité - la gamine qui perd ses parents et qui est élevée par sa tante. Sauf que la tante fabrique des prototypes de jouets ultra connectés. Pour redonner la joie de vivre à sa nièce, elle fabrique Megan, un cyborg au plus près de l’humain. Connectée à la gamine, Megan devient de plus en plus protectrice. On comprendra rapidement les bienfaits comme les dérives de ce que la technologie est capable de faire. Si on est ravie qu’au début, Megan redonne le sourire à la gamine, on va rapidement flipper devant ses prises d’initiatives et l’agressivité dont elle peut faire preuve.
