I'm realizing that I've never actually posted photos of the project that got me started with 3D printing prop weapons. This is the Poppy Knight's halberd, nominally inspired by 15th Century German halberds of a similar design, as well as the Red Hilted Halberd from Dark Souls 3. I both learned a lot about prop making while making this halberd and have learned a lot on all the project's since. Regardless, it was a strong starting point for me. This halberd has successfully accompanied me to both the MN and KC Renaissance Faires and survived a brush with disaster when a guard at the King's Gate in Minnesota decided to prove the blade was plastic by bending the spear until it started to crack. #honeycom3dp #honeycomb3dprinting #maker #halberd #3dprinting #dungeonsanddragons #KCrenfest #mnrenfest

The closing ceremonies are one of the most meaningful and wonderful events of which I am a part of. This year I wanted a different shot than what I have gotten in previous years. I was fortunate that a shopkeeper allowed me to use their upper balcony during the final fire part of the ceremony. I absolutely love this shot and it came out better than I could have hoped. The Renaissance Festival is finally over for the season. Unfortunately, the cruel treatment and boring days of captivity will continue for the elephants and camels forced to participate. Please sign the petition to end animal rides and send a letter opposing animal exploitation to the MN Ren Fest if you haven’t already (link in bio)! Last weekend, we received a constant flow of positive feedback from people coming and going through the Queens Gate. People thanked us for being there, stopped to scan the QR code to sign the petition, gave us a thumbs up, honked, and waved. One person even rolled down their window to tell us they would “never come back again, it was awful!” Although we received a majority of positive comments, there are always a few negative. One woman felt it was necessary on the way out to yell to us that “the elephants are so well pampered and taken care of” and that we should do our research - a statement we are all too familiar with hearing from animal exploiters.
