I FEEL FREE! These are a few of the trees surrounding my house on my property. I take a walk most mornings with my dog. He was sniffing around as we got back home and picked out a lily that was growing. I decided to look around at the new blooms and just stared at the beauty in front of me. These trees were small and immature when we first moved here. We nurtured them through the seasons, and they are now full grown.💖 I stood and stared, I gave thanks for ALL that I have.... The ability to walk To be in the good company of my pup To come back to a beautiful home To my husband who is my rock and support To know that my children are safe and want for nothing To see all that we have built together as a family. My health I have the time to take care of me and the people I love most. I have time to appreciate these things. I have the finances to own my home and make the changes that I want. Over the years, I have leveraged one part of my health to create space for another part of my health. I changed my schedule to fit my life, not the other way around. I practice medicine because I still want to, not because I have to. I am living my healthy life! None of this would be possible if I did not INVEST in some aspect of my life. I have been so inspired by my own personal journey of healing and creating a better version of me. That is exactly where I have been working to get this last year but honestly it took me the last 4 years to get here. Just pruned my little limelight hydrangeas, and now I will attempt to root these cuttings as well. Although they are not native blooms, I do really enjoy these bright perennials in a residential garden. (You may find some wild native hydrangeas in the US) hydrangeas have been “naturalized” in compatible climates around the world. Meaning they don’t outcompete our native plants like invasive species do. I would never reccomend planting any non-native plants nearby natural or wooded areas, but as far as I know these blooms are an ethical choice for home gardens. Please also consider native blooms and especially pollinator plants to feed our local bees in addition to any hydrangeas! 🐝 Many people plant hydrangeas in beds next to their homes or fences. This is because hydrangeas love the warm morning sun, but they dislike the heat of the afternoon. The best place to plant hydrangeas is in a sheltered location with sunny mornings and shady afternoons.
