Our top 10 campsites of 2023 include at least 8 more favourites: 11. New River Beach, New Brunswick, August – We knew we wanted to camp in proximity to the world’s highest tides and so made a beeline for the Bay of Fundy as soon as we were able. 12. Big Axe Brewery, Nackawic, New Brunswick – We first camped at this @harvesthosts on the St. John River in 2019. This place which is home to the world’s largest axe is also a place we met new friends, one of which we reconnected with on this visit. 13. + 14. The Anchorage, Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick – This island was our ultimate destination in July. Our ferry to and from this special place was followed by pods of dolphins. The hiking and vistas were spectacular and the history, rich. We loved that the campground was awash in bunnies. Plus, we met lovely folks, now friends! 15. Campobello Island, New Brunswick, August – Best known as the summer home of late President Roosevelt, this island also in the Bay of Fundy is just a stone's throw from Maine. We opted for the two-ferry route through Canadian waters to get there. Partly because we love ferries and because we got to see the Old Sow Whirlpool on Deer Island. We were there for Fog Fest and treated to live music at Herring Cove. 16. Domaine Acer, Auclair, Québec, August – Another Harvest Host located deep within a remote hilly Québec maple forest is where we spent a peaceful night after stocking up in exceptional maple products. 17. Ferris Provincial Park, Ontario, August – We had wanted to visit this park with the suspension bridge for a while. We lucked out snagging a last minute weekend site atop a drumlin overlooking the valley below. There are only two such sites at this park and we’ll leave it up to you to figure out where in the park they are. 17. Rondeau Provincial Park, Ontario, September – Those nice folks we met on Grand Manan in July met us in Ontario in September at one of our favourite Ontario parks, making it even more special! 18. Riviére-Ouelle, Québec, October – If you know anything about us, you will know we LOVE Québec and we LOVE the St. Lawrence River. Off-season camping meant we got a site nearest the mighty river we love.

What crazy wild times on the road with @festivalinspire. Met the most efficient crew ever and amazing personalities/humans. Truly a blessing to have been part of the Edmundston stop on the New Brunswick tour. This mural was on the Edmundston Congress Centre, opposite of @centredesarts Art Centre. They are doing an amazing job bringing cultural events to Edmundston, so this semi-abstract piece was about community and how each person contributes in their own way to build a more vibrant life.
