We got funky with Octatrack, DrumBrute and vocal loops! This beat gives me a vibe like Radiohead’s ‘The King of Limbs’. I loved that record when it came out. Got to start listening to it again. I used a self-recorded sample of noise from my bicycle to create a beat on the Octatrack. I augmented it with my new DrumBrute Impact. @_henzki_ made the whole thing come alive with her vocal loops. Her vocals are recorded thru a Zoom stereo mic via a Boss DD-200 delay and a Strymon BlueSky reverb into my Octatrack Pickup Machines. By the way, our band Pihka Is My Name just had a new remix out! From the first half of a 85 bpm practice session where I worked on creating some different synth and rhythm lines.
Yesterday we had a chance to re-record our "Turia Trippin" live, and this time we were able to do a per-channel recording for it. So, beware! A new track is coming and it is coming strong! :) Besides, it turned out to be a tad better than the original recording (which you can also view on our channel). Our setup is basically similar to the one before: the master clock and resampling center is an #Octratrack mk2. From A4 we took some pads, leads and melody sounds. The audio from all synthesizers chain comes into #Midas and through to the Octatrack and in parallel into our #RME soundcard. For the bity bass we've used phase modulated sinewave from #intellijel passed through the #Moog filter. The multitude of outputs from intellijel dixie+ was creating a wobbly pad and some feisty percussion (depending on the amount of the FM applied). The jomox was doing some heavy offbeat tom-ish sounds and the Akemie's Taiko is on bright percs modulated by 4ms Pingable. Share this artwork for support the artists!)
