De mooie dagen komen er weer aan! Wil je je eigen natuurlijke aftersun maken? Uiteraard kan je ook een beetje zelf, op gevoel en door te proberen, de verhoudingen aanpassen. Wanneer jij bijvoorbeeld Melaleuca (Tea Tree) niet zo fijn vindt ruiken, dan kan je hier uiteraard minder van in doen. Pas op met Citrus oliën zoals Wild Orange, Grapefruit of Lemon. Aftersun is voor ná de zon, maar wanneer je de volgende ochtend weer gaat zonnebaden, dan wil je geen citrus olie op je huid hebben. Citrus oliën zijn fotosensitief. Dit betekent dat wanneer je hiermee in de zon gaat, dat er verkleuring, irritatie of zelfs blaren zouden kunnen optreden. Blijf minimaal 12 uur uit de zon, maar liever 48 uur.

Hands down, my favorite diffuser blend. And it’s been blasting for nearly 2 days now. . The sweet orange is happy and bright, the patchouli is earthy and grounding. Stress. Worry. Anxiety. Sadness. We all have it. But this week especially is very hard, among many since last year’s losses. This week is jury trial for my brother’s murder. It’s painful, it’s sad, it’s hard, it’s anxiety ridden. It’s terrible to relive the and actually be able to visualize in more detail what happened the night of his death. It’s hard not to want to just scream at his shooter. It’s hard not to shake my head in disgust at the defense alone. It’s hard to be quiet when I cry so as to not disrupt the jury. I can’t hike during recess today and made this blend. This blend is very soft, with both floral and warm tones, and citrusy top note. Bergamot is a citrus oil known to produce feelings of happiness and joy. Lavender is very calming and soothing, and is often used to quiet the mind and re-center yourself. Stress way is a blend that helps you do just that, keep stress away! It helps keep me grounded during times of stress or fight or flight, to carry through my day without intense feelings of anxiety. I’ll be applying this blend through out the rest of the week to keep me grounded in the court room, to surrender to what has happened and to put the verdict in Gods hands. I pray for wisdom for the prosecuting attorneys, intelligence and efficiency. I also pray for discernment and wisdom for the jury in helping to give my brother justice. If I feel moments of anger this week, I’ll utilize this blend while practicing relaxation breathing and prayer. Using this to help me stay strong this week and be there for my brother and my daddy! Where it all began Feb ‘16 • I was lost, broken and so done with feeling all the feels. After two house fires in less then 3 years and dealing with the insurance and restarting. everything. again..... This used to be the perfect time when I would stock up on all those yummy scented candles like pumpkin spice or apple pie. BUT, this year I’m not doing that. You see, I’ve read a ridiculous amount of studies proving that scented candles emit numerous types of potentially hazardous chemicals which will make one sick. Really!! One study done at the University of Melbourne stated that certain candles can cause damage to your lungs and the central nervous system, and one study done at South Carolina State University stated burning candles would cause asthma or be a potential cancer risk. Say whaaaaaat? Sorry candles, I won’t put my family at risk anymore. Rather, I’ve found that I can diffuse essential oils, you know NATURAL plant-based scents that make my home smell equally as amazing. (maybe even better!)
