Need a nest of Nasturtium? 🧡🌸🌿 I met this nest of Nasturtium on one of my trips to Peru. I just had to draw up this little group. They were so lush, communal, and clearly happy! I just wanted to snuggle up in them! As you may know, I love to draw, paint, print plants and critters I meet in nature. If you’re like me, you like surrounding yourself with art and beautiful things form nature. While I always try to capture the personality of the species I meet in nature, there’s always a bit of scientific documentation as well in the process. I’ve been working on a serious of detailed plantscapes illustrations from my travels that I’m in the process of hand carving and block printing in black and white (for some reason black prints are speaking to me right now) , but I’ve had some of the illustrations printed up as giclee fine art prints to make them more accessible. “Nasturtium Nest” just arrived and is available. Had the wildest weekend in Bangkok immersed in plants, plants, plants and more plants, from Bangkok Pre-Winter International Exotic Plants fair to Platycerium Nursery visit in outer Bangkok - what a fruitful weekend indeed. 1.) Feed-worthy photo of the fair’s backdrop📸 2.) Had our eyes opened to so many variegated anthuriums at the fair😻 3.) So psyched to have met the author of Patra books - Ms Patra, so much so that we’ve forgotten to take a photo with her ourselves 😅 @patrabooks 4.) Also very honoured to have met Ms Wanida from Rabbithorn, shared her love for wild platyceriums with us and how the form changes as it is domesticated @_rabbit_horn_ 🥰 5.) Were so mesmerised by the Platycerium OMG from @sunny.ferns.18 🤩 6.) Had so much fun visiting platycerium nursery in outer Bangkok and first time seeing how a cooling pad work - it allows for a reduction of up to 3 degrees celcious while increasing humidity in the space😍 7.) Also, finally seeing P. Jenny for real in front of our eyes and not through a screen📺 8.) So in love with this P. Nemo - notoriously known as the Thai version of Pedro Tatsuta. 9.) P. These two plants I saw in a pasticceria in Florence were adorable! But lets talk about their conditions and which one is best. 1️⃣ The first looked healthy, but it had no windows or sunlight... So that’s not good! Don’t know if and how this plant will survive long-term. 2️⃣The second one was in better conditions with a window near it and a pole for balance! Indirect sunlight is never a bad idea. I would suggest cutting the damaged leaves and cleaning the leaves often for better photosynthesis 😉

Had a lovely afternoon visiting the beautiful Bergius Botanic Garden in Stockholm yesterday. The Edvard Anderson Conservatory is split into 7 climatic zones and houses some 3,000 species from around the world. The main Mediterranean Hall, South Africa, Australia, California, Fernery, Tropical Room and the Palm Hall. My favourite area of this glasshouse was the Mediterranean hall. This is what happens when you love travel as much as you love plants. I look for plant displays everywhere. Despite of lack of space and what has to be challenging growing conditions here in Rome, I found some interesting use of plants and I think they do add interest to all the stone and architecture. Especially patios, restaurants were all using plants for screening and obiance.
