It's Fish's Gotcha Day! TWO YEARS A FERAL 🐟 On April 30th 2022 we sprung this little frightened doggo out from foster care up in Sheffield, ending his long long wait and big scary cross-continent journey to make it home. 🐟 And today we celebrated the traditional way - with a new handmade fishy fish bandana, a big early morning run on his favourite route, and a tasty slice of fried black pudding for breakfast! He's laughed along all day - this lad is just perfect! 🐟 I've written so often about the challenges Fish faces - in common with all his siblings - but a long time ago we made the decision to put that aside and not dwell on what he can't do, and embrace all the amazing things he can! In doing so he's upended our expectations, outlook, experience, and our whole world - he's opened up amazing new avenues of adventure and I've come to realise that if Fish can't do it, well, I don't want to either! I'd turn the world inside out for my boy - I love this guy with everything I am. 🐟 It's an almost improbable journey that brought him from his birth to wild streetdogs in a Romanian mechanics yard, all the way to our little suburban life in the UK. I call it improbable as just one little thing different and we'd have missed our boy without ever knowing - but the truth is these rescues happen under the radar every day. There are so many good and selfless people out there giving and giving - their homes, their livelihoods, their time and passion and energy and souls - I'm in absolute awe of Fish's heroes @alpinroxi @evermoredogrescue and the network that brought him home to us - like so many others before and after. 6am on Saturday was a big moment as I welcomed little Cardinal off the van from Romania. He is still super nervous and scared of pretty much everything, but he has been so brave and keeps on trying. He's been bathed, loves a cuddle on the couch with his teddy bear and has also has discovered a love of ginger nuts. Margot is a lovely girl of 9 months old and around 14 kgs in weight. She is fostered in Swansea. Margot can be slightly nervous around other dogs and men but is still playful and so is looking for a home with a confident dog who she can play with and learn from. Brother and sister reunited nearly 4 years after they travelled over from Romania as pups. That’s Myster on the left (formerly Axel). He got rehomed last year after his first owners gave him up (and spent some time in kennels and the with a foster in between). He’s a solid chap and makes Rita look tiny in comparison. They have lots of similarities in terms of reactivity/fear and stubbornness, but she’s a lot more playful (and barks more!) Not 100% sure they remembered each other but they both greeted each other calmly and they played briefly together when we reached a field. They both also enjoyed a good paddle in the puddles. Apparently he likes a bath which I was kind of jealous about. Getting Rita in the shower is a constant battle 😂 #Rescuedogs #Romanianrescue #littermates

We just had the most beautiful walkies! This place is just 20 minutes from our house so we definitely have to make more of an effort to visit.
