CUSCO 🇵🇪 Don’t worry, no baby animals were harmed in the taking of this photo…just cuddled! 🦙🥹 My next stop in Peru was the UNESCO city of Cusco - surrounded by the Andes mountains it is the gateway city to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu! Cusco was the capital of the Incan Empire, and so has beautiful narrow cobbled streets, grand plazas with cathedrals and of course, famous Incan stone walls built without any adhesive, just pure precision to slot the stones together! Nowadays Cusco is a tourist haven with many shops, restaurants, and ladies in traditional Peruvian dress with various baby animals! 😜 The city is full of hustle and bustle all times of day and night, but at an altitude of 3400m with steep streets I took it at a leisurely pace! Visita ao #tambomachay #cusco impossível não deixar registrado esses lugares incríveis que conhecemos em Cusco-Peru. O que é Tambomachay? Tambomachay é um dos sítios arqueológicos incas mais famosos da cidade de Cusco. No tempo dos Incas, era um centro cerimonial que adorava a água. Tem terraços, plataformas e canais de água desenhados com grande perfeição. Acredita-se que tenha servido como banhos do imperador inca Túpac Yupanqui (1411 – 1493). Até hoje, depois de quase 5 séculos, a água continua fluindo com grande precisão. 🔺️Curiosidade sobre esse lugar é que, as mulheres se banhavam pois a água trazia fertilidade. As crônicas indicam que Tambomachay, além do local de descanso do Inca. Também era um lugar sagrado porque pertencia a uma das ‘ceques’ ou linhas sagradas que começaram na cidade de Cusco. Da mesma forma, Tambomachay é cercada por cavernas, que (de acordo com a visão de mundo Inca) se comunicavam com o mundo dos mortos (Uku pacha). Pensa em um lugar lindo e rico de histórias!! Day ✌🏻in 🇵🇪 Breakfast with the Familia followed by adventure, adventure, adventure 🙌🏻 First stop the Pisac Archeological Site It was hard work exploring this huge Inca site at altitude (3300m) good job I kept stopping to geek out at all the rocks and how they linked them together. So clever how they sourced water, then channeled it so that it would water all of the crops on the terraces. The big question is... When you visit Peru, be sure to plan time to stay and experience some of the beauty and culture in the Sacred Valley. Photos in order: 1. Casa Andina - a wonderful place to stay in the Sacred Valley. We fed baby alpacas, played in the play room, had wonderful meals, played on the massive playground — it’s wonderful. 2. We saw indigenous women weaving at a local co-op called Factoria Peru Inca 3. Visit Factoria Peru Inca where you can see different llama and alpaca breeds, learn how the textiles are dyed & woven. Bring some cash to buy some amazing locally made products 4. Archeological site of Ollanyaytambo - a fascinating story of a stand off with the Spanish and the last strong hold of the Inca 8. Moray - learn all about how Inca people studied how climate effects crop growth here 9. Maras Salt Mines - over 3,500 salt pools at almost 11K feet high. An incredible & unbelievable spot. 10. Her seyahatte olduğu gibi soğuk duş etkisi sayesinde günlük yaşantımda & işimdeki sıkıntılara uzaktan bakarak ne kadar önemsiz olduklarını, içindeyken kaybolup çok büyük geldiğini ama biraz uzaklaşıp bakınca ne kadar küçük ve anlamsız olduklarını farkettim. Bi durup mola vermenin onemini anladim. Harika insanlarla tanıştım. Yazi yazmaya basladim. Ilk kez hayatimda resim yaptim 😛 Corona durumu da sağolsun bu öğretileri pekiştiriyor🙏🏻 Hayatın kargaşasından çıkıp, durup kendimizi dinlemenin güzelliğini ve sağlığın önemini bize hatırlattı. Bu dönemi bi an önce az hasarla atlatırız umarım. Inca’s the rulers lived in the higher buildings and the citizens working for #incaempire lived below. Inca rulers spoke language called Puquina and citizens language called Quechua.
