On Sunday July 9 Parker turned 2! 🥳 So hard to believe she’s already 2! I made her a special treat of peanut butter and banana frozen in the shape of a bone which she loved (but what food doesn’t she love cause I sure haven’t found any yet 😂). Got some fun pictures before heading out on the group @sitstaysquat walking class which included her buddy Rory! Even in the heat and mosquito infested area she had the time of her life and wore herself out. Then one day, seemingly out of the blue, my mom picked out a litter of Shihtzu-Yorkie puppies on Kijiji. We drove to pick you up before I ever even saw what you looked like. We met your “breeder” on the side of the road. She handed you to me, and handed your sister to my sister. As soon as she handed you to me, I thought - “this is my dog.” We put both puppies down to wander around. We called for you both - “Puppies! Come here!” Your sister came running towards us, and you didn’t even look up, Lol. I remember thinking.. That other puppy is a much better listener, I should probably pick her instead.. but I couldn’t help but feel like there was a reason why you were handed to me. I grew to love you more than I have ever loved anyone in my life. You came with me when I moved out - we lived with roommates, by ourselves, with boyfriends. We lived with grandma for a year and a half and you gained 3lbs lol. For over 7 years I brought you to my office job with me everyday. When the new CEO decided that was no longer appropriate… I quit and started Sit Stay Squat, with you as my muse. You’ve been there for me through breakups, friendship abandonments, fights with family. At times, you were all I had. You have been my constant companion for 13 years. From 18 to 31. I couldn’t have made it through these last 13 years without you. Hi, I’m Zooey. Welcome to my crib. 😊 Zooey is a female, longhaired golden dog with patches of spread down her chest, on top of her paws (think marshmallows on the feet), and on top of her muzzle. Her eyes are amber colored that pop in the sunlight. Her nose is tan/pink combo with some freckles and age spots. She has ear krimpy hairs, sometimes grinch feet, and whispy hairs coming from her shoulders. She is commonly mistaken for a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. She weighs 34 lbs with short legs and long back. Her DNA results said golden retriever, apbt, Labrador retriever, GSD.. the list goes on. She’s a holler pup to her core.
