Work stuff! Old stuff! New stuff! Just stuffff. It really tested us, brought back some old feelings, intertwined with just the daily stresses and hustle running a busy house. Tight schedules, work demands. List goes on and on and onnnnn. By Wednesday morning, I sent him the words at the top of this caption that I screenshotted who knows when and where. If anyone knows, please lmk. Would love to tag. By Thursday night, he asked me to join him for a walk. We rarely do this together these days. I was surprised, was working on laundry but took his offer. We met up, he led the way to two of our previously loved homes in our old hood. I didn’t even realize he planned this. And it was his way of acknowledging our stressful week and his thoughts and love around our past, present and future. We reminisced. We paused. We took a few deep breaths. We planned. We talked just us in nature. We walked. We took it in. We reminded each other that nothing else matters if we are not good. We smiled. Like really smiled. Held hands. It was a simple evening. Mit großer Bestürzung haben wir kürzlich von dem plötzlichen Tod unseres Mitgliedes Franz-Josef Ingenmey erfahren. Er war seit 2004 Mitglied beim LTB, ein begeisterter Läufer und im späteren Alter entdeckte er für sich das Walken. Seine größten Erfolge waren der Biel Ultramarathon und der Hamburg Marathon. Neben dem Sport war Franz-Josef ehrenamtlich in seinem Stadtbezirk sehr aktiv: u.a. für den Verein „Freundeskreis Hoeschpark“, das jährliche Hoeschpark-Fest, Einsatz für den Erhalt des Freibads Stockheide, Einsatz als Mitglied des Seniorenbeirates u.v.m. Im letzten Jahr erhielt er für sein tolles Engagement eine Auszeichnung: Engel der Nordstadt. Wir verlieren mit ihm nicht nur ein Mitglied, sondern auch unseren früheren Lauf- und Walkingbuddy, unseren Freund und für unsere Wandergruppe auch den Tourenguide. Diese hat er mit viel Freude geplant. Franz-Josef ist plötzlich und unerwartet vor 14 Tagen im Alter von 71Jahren von uns gegangen. Are hand knitted wool socks worth the price tag? My son certainly thinks so! He works as a builder’s labourer and wears the same pair of socks all week unless they get wet. He says that they don’t make his feet sweat like other socks that he has. These ones have been in the wash at 40 degrees C a gazillion times (as per the washing instructions for this particular brand). He has 3 pairs now and as you can see, apart from a little rubbing on the heel and some cement that won’t wash off 😆 they are perfectly fine. Stunningly gorgeous 7 1/2-8 month old puppy Dexter, is ready for his active, playful and loving forever family. Dexter is a little shy upon meeting, but opens up beautifully once he feels safe & secure. His foster family adores him and Dexter loves them wholeheartedly, so we know he’s a complete love bug, who does do great with other friendly dogs. We think Dexter would do best with another friendly dog as he was really bonded to the other dogs that were rescued from a hoarding situation along with amazing Dexter. He is currently being fostered with a huge Rottie mix and Dexter loves hanging with him and loves going on walks together. He’s amazingly behaved in the home, loves to lounge on his dog bed after playing or going on a walk and Dexter is potty trained and crate trained. Dexter’s foster family also have a 11 year old son, and he’s good with his human foster brother as well. A nice hike on a normal weekday, what a good idea. My daughter in Maastricht for a few days, means I had my favorite walking buddy with me !! Yellow was the colour of this afternoon….the Broom (Gorse) blooming abundantly, spreading a warm yellow colour everywhere. A high viewpoint invited us to sit down for a rest and enjoy a hot tea. Of course…… never go anywhere without your own cups !! In this case it was two small cups that came from the testing fase of “pinkish” glazes.
