Very excited to be collaborating in the first of many online DJ workshops for specific genre's. Many of the womxn who want to learn how to DJ are interested in conscious dance DJing. As this is not my genre, the answer was clearly to collaborate with experienced female DJ's who excel in their specific field. @rivkaworth is just this person. Rivka uses her sonic wizardry to alchemise music from our planet’s phenomenal producers, to create her own sound aesthetic with intention to inspire an expansive cellular experience. Her unique sets have been shared with thousands of dancers in Australia ,NZ, & Indonesia, offering ecstatic, shamanic and somatic experiences. Rivka really knows her stuff. With a BA in dance and extensive years studying and practicing somatics she been doing this for 30 years. She is a master space holder. What this workshop will cover: * Creating an intention * Intentional Music Selection * Transitioning between tracks * Opening, Closing and everything in between- Overall Flow of a session * How to Raise the Roof with integrity * How to support people who get stuck on the dance floor (through music) * Track selection * Ways to facilitate whilst DJing * Grounding somatic tips for you as a facilitator holding space This workshop will provide a taste of some of the strategies and formulas that Rivka uses to keep the musical flow and organic momentum of a dance journey alive from arrival to closure.
