Zaboo Hazy IPA. 5.9% ABV. Switchback Brewing Co. Burlington, Vermont USA 🇺🇸 Switchback Ale, a full-bodied, balanced Amber Ale, is this Vermont brewery's flagship. And it's ubiquitous across ski country. Good stuff, for sure. But I was psyched to come across this #NEIPA in the Waterbury Shaw's supermarket. There's no specific info on the can or website, but I'll make two points: 1. This is another example of a low (for the 🇺🇸) ABV that doesn't skimp on flavor. You may know how I like that 😉; 2. The brewer's flavor description is what I tasted. 📍Switchback Brewing Bamberg-Style Oktoberfest - Amber Lager Zaboo - Hazy IPA Flynn Ave in Burlington is home to one of Vermonts oldest and most most well-known breweries, operating and brewing since 2002. The Tap Room at Switchback, which opened in 2014, was added as a way for people near and far to come out, gather at the source, and enjoy the popular year-round lineup, including the iconic Switchback Ale, Karsten (Lager), and to test their experimental beers and limited releases. Switchback beers are all unfiltered and 100% naturally carbonated, creating only the freshest and most flavorful beers possible. We didn’t let the rain stop us from heading over and enjoying the 2023 Oktoberfest along with our brother-in-law, Katie’s dad, and one of our nieces. Tyler had their Bamberg-Style Oktoberfest, a deep Amber Lager brewed with German malt. Great taste, bold flavor, with a 62% on the smoke-ometer. He later had Unkel Dunkel, a smoked Dunkel Hefeweizen (42% on the smoke-ometer) with a subtle caramel flavor throughout. Both beers are part of their Flynn On Fire: Smoked Beer Initiative, which attempts to explore and experiment with smoked malt. Katie had Zaboo, their popular Hazy IPA with notes of orange and peach. Prost!🍻 Do they have food? Other than chips, they do not have food. However, they occasionally have events at the taproom where they’ll have food available, and on some days they’ll have food trucks.
