#BroadwayCon 5 was one of the best weekends of my life. The number of joyful faces I got to see, and the bounty of #foreverhomes I helped to find for the #Broadway treasures I’ve had in storage, reminded me of my #purposes in life: spreading joy through #contagiousenthusiasm; being a #kindnesswarrior; and promoting undying love for people and art. My amazing partner @rj_clark_writer was by my side the whole time, as were Maria @batatinha2 and Lindsay @re.theatre, and I couldn’t have done any of it without them. Plus, the #community of @broadwaymakers, a cohort of artists that support each other unconditionally, was the cherry on top. I finished. Possibly the hardest race I’ve ever done, and the first time I’ve ever questioned finishing, but I did. By mile 2 I was lightheaded, mildly nauseated and trying to remember if/where there would me first aid if I needed it. Mile 3, I started refueling (instead of my usual mile 7 or 8) and hoped it would help. By mile 4, I felt slightly better (thanks Space Mountain theme music). Mile 6 we left the shade and braved the record breaking heat (thank goodness races start early before the serious heat, but still not great when you already feel off your game). Somewhere between mile 7 and 8 I had a mild panic attack and had to stop until I could breathe somewhat normally again. And somewhere around mile 10 every muscle in my right leg rebelled. And despite all that, despite the fact that my muscles have been beyond tense, no matter how much stretching or foam rolling or yoga I do, despite the heat and despite having to walk so much more than I ever have in a race or a training run, despite my slowest ever finishing time, I fought through that race from start to finish. #day12of42 More same old. Baby B had a couple of dips like this (she's the yellow line, drives me nuts, B should be BLUE) during monitoring this afternoon. Didn't help at the same time, in the MoMo FB group, one woman delivered her girls at 24 weeks, and another lost them both at 23 weeks. Nurses weren't too concerned but I'll wait to hear from MFM.
