Naia: This is what 9 looks like! Celebrating another earth lap in Hawaii this year. Feeling the aloha spirit, we went on a super fun (and recommended) tubing adventure, learned some Kauai history, sang happy birthday to her in the middle of a 3/4 mile long tunnel, got cleaned up and went to a family love filled dinner. This is now named her best birthday ever! We are blessed and recognize our blessing everyday. 9 years ago today, a baby girl was born. And so was a mother. And a father. When speaking with her teachers and coaches they say she's "focused", "determined", "gentle-hearted", and always "kind to her friends". In her free time, Ry throws on her baggy jeans, Nike high tops, (always a crystal in hand), and whips her hair into a long pony tail that drapes down her entire backside. She grabs her soccer ball and practices her tricks outside. "Watch my signature move, ma!", she screams to me as she kicks her huge corner kick perfectly into the top corner of the net, or she fakes me out as I run towards her trying to get the ball. Ryan can't wait to wake up in the morning and eat crispy fried eggs on toast (post pristinely making her bed). In her free time, she'll randomly go off on her own and do some art, or read her book quietly in her room, or you'll find her doing something to take care of her sister. As parents, we hope our kids are kind and gracious. We want them to feel safe, supported, and happy. For her birthday today, Ryan wanted nothing more than to bring all her teammates at soccer practice tonight each a crystal signifying togetherness. She asked her teacher if the math test could be today because doing math on her birthday would be "so slay"!
