Sitorai Mokhi Khosa (Persian name meaning "Palace like the stars and the moon") is an early 20th-century palace and the residence of the last emir of Bukhara. • It might be the most unusual among Bukhara's attractions and also the one that left perhaps a stronger or at least a different impression on me. Samarkand, Usbekistan, 2023 🇺🇿 Von Taschkent kann man in guten zwei Stunden mit dem Schnellzug nach Samarkand, einer prächtigen Stadt der alten Seidenstraße, reisen. 1369 wurde Samarkand zur Hauptstadt des Großreichs des mongolischen Herrschers Timur. Der zentrale Registan (wörtlich „Sandplatz“) gilt als einer der schönsten Plätze der Welt. Gleich drei Medresen (allgemeinbildende islamische Hochschulen) befinden sich an diesem Platz: Auf der linken Seite die Ulug'bek-Madrasa (15 Jhd. und Beispiel der timuridischen Baukunst), zentral die Tilla-Kori-Madrasa (17. Jhd. und lange Zeit als Moschee genutzt) sowie auf der rechten Bildseite die Sher-Dor-Madrasa (17. Jhd.). Die Ulug'bek-Madrasa und die Sher-Dor-Madrasa liegen sich gegenüber und sind nach dem sog. Kosch-Prinzip angeordnet. Nach diesem in vielen zentralasiatischen Städten zu findenden städtebaulichen Prinzip stehen sich zwei repräsentative Gebäude wie Bild und Spiegelbild gegenüber. Die Gebäude verfügen über riesige Portale, Säulen an beiden Seiten des Portals, Kuppeln und farbigen Mosaiken. Transport w Uzbekistanie, Czy jak, czym i za ile podróżowaliśmy?💁♀️ 🚆 naszym pierwszym środkiem transportu był pociąg… ale nie byle jaki! Odległość z Taszkentu do Samarkandy, a więc ponad 300km. pokonaliśmy w niespełna dwie godziny.😮 w cenie biletu (około 30-40zł.) dostaliśmy nawet przekąskę i napój do wyboru 🧃 🚃 w kolejnych dniach mieliśmy (nie)przyjemność podróży pociągami nocnymi - w przedziałach sypialnych 💤 te doświadczenia oceniamy na „ciekawe, ale świadomie nigdy więcej”😂 Byliśmy niesamowicie zmęczeni, przedziału nie dało się zamknąć, a więc cały czas spaliśmy w czuwaniu 🙈 Dodatkowo drugi z naszych nocnych pociągów jechał przez pustynię, a więc przez wzgląd na pył nie dało się otworzyć okna, a razem z nami w przedziale spało dwóch znieczulonych nieco panów 🥲 było niesamowicie duszno, więc radość z podróży zaczęliśmy czerpać dopiero po wstaniu słońca ☀️ wtedy przez jednego z panów zostaliśmy poczęstowani jabłkiem 🥹a drugi zagadał nas łamanym rosyjskim, że polski „Znachor” to naprawdę świetny film 😂 🚕 taksówki w Uzbekistanie to transport na studencką kieszeń. Nie żałowaliśmy sobie absolutnie takich udogodnień i za cały tydzień przejazdów wyszło nam około 40zł.💁♀️ przejazdy zamawialiśmy przy pomocy aplikacji @yandex.go, która jest po prostu środkowoazjatycką wersją znanego nam ubera. Mega polecajka🫶 🚗 trzy przejazdy organizowaliśmy z prywatnym kierowcą z firmy @islambektravel. Tutaj porównywaliśmy kilka opcji i wybraliśmy dla nas najodpowiedniejszą. Przejrzysty cennik, bardzo dobra komunikacja przez WhatsApp💪 ✈️ lot krajowy liniami @uzairways . Nie wiedzieliśmy czego się spodziewać, ale.. komfort w samolocie był lepszy niż na międzykontynentalnym Warszawa - Taszkent 😂 przywiązanie Uzbeków do tradycji bylo zauważalne, pierwszy raz mieliśmy tak przepięknie przedstawione zasady bezpieczeństwa😍 dodajemy filmik, bo sami moglibyśmy oglądać go w nieskończoność 😂 lot trwał niecałe 2h, ale tam również dostaliśmy posiłek bez dodatkowych kosztów. 😮 #uzbekistan #traveluzbekistan #traveling #maciaskiadventure #triptips

Taschkent, Usbekistan 🇺🇿 Auch wenn Taschkent auf eine mehr als 2000-jährige Geschichte zurückblickt, finden sich hier kaum historische Gebäude. Der Grund hierfür ist, dass bei einem schweren Erdbeben am 26.4.1966 große Teile der Stadt zerstört wurden. Taschkent, das damals die Hauptstadt der zur Sowjetunion gehörenden Usbekischen Sozialistischen Sowjetrepublik war, wurde in der Folge als sowjetische Vorzeigestadt wieder aufgebaut. Davon zeugt noch heute die sowjetische Architektur an vielen Stellen der Stadt. Today was women's day, which is celebrated very big in Uzbekistan. In fact, the pink on the Uzbek flag stands for women. I could not find many public festivities relating to this day, though. Instead, I decided to go to what once was an islamic school, a Madrasa (see story). These types of building are very iconic for their quadratic layout with a large square in the center surrounded by the two-story building. Though I would be seeing many of these types of buildings throughout my voyage, this was one of the first times. In this beautiful weather, I explored the ancient architecture with a photogenig blooming tree in its center, as its flower pedals rained down across the courtyard, aided by light, intermittend breezes. Some people were sitting outside, while some handymen labored away in their workshops in what once were the classrooms. I explored their artwork of highly complex inlays into trays and wooden boxes. From this ancient structure, I walked through a typical Soviet park full of bronze statues of important Uzbek writers. Numerous families enjoyed their free day on the extraordinarily many benches throughout. After ascending up to a towering statue of the widely-celebrated poet Navoi, who even has a city named after him, the green space transitioned into a Disneyland style fun-village called "Magic city" (pic 3). It was a dramatic contrast to what I had seen so far of Tashkent. Bright colors, music, walkable streets, sweets and games at every corner. Some where enjoying their time on a small boat, crossing the near-by pond. The place was packed with families visiting the indoor rollercoasters and trambolines. The entire circus was sponsored by one of Uzbekistan's favorite companies: Pepsi (pic 4). Logos of it were to be seen everywhere. Traditionally, Uzbeks almost exclusively drank tea, never water. Nowadays, they still don't really drink water but tea gets increasingly replaced by Pepsi or other soft drinks, which have have become a very normal way to hydrate oneselves. Suzani - Delicate beauty unique to handcrafts I visited a craft center in the village of Gijduvan near Bukhara after a long time. It's run by the renowned ceramic artist Mr. Abdulla and his family. We can see Abdulla's pottery studio, Suzani embroidery by women from his 95-year-old mother to his daughter, and a carpet workshop dedicated to preserving traditional crafts. Especially mesmerizing is the Suzani embroidery done one stitch at a time with silk threads dyed with natural dyes. In the evening, an elderly musician played the dutar and performed traditional songs. The Chor Minor in Bukhara, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 Off the beaten path a bit and hidden behind twisting alleys, the Chir Minor is the gate house for a madrassa that no longer stands. The four posted tower is a beautiful example of early 19th century Bukharan architecture and art. Inside, there is a shop, and it is possible to get to the roof. READ THE DESCRIPTION! My first stop today was the Human House (pic 1). It lay in a quiet neighbourhood that did not fit into the general architectual style of Tashkent and would have probably been more appropriate in England. The Human House itself, though, imitated a castle and was build out of a traditional mix of mud and hay, which was, and still is, commonly used to construct buildings in Uzbekistan. The shop featured beautifully handcrafted objects and exquisit art on canvas. A group was just in the process of taking a pottery course. I stepped onto the sunny courtyard, featuring much-needed shady roofs all around it with traditional, low Uzbek tables without chairs. Cats sneaked from one corner to the other, and a man served tea. Though clearly made for tourists, it neither felt too touristic nor were there many tourists. On my way to the next spot, the Tashkent House of Photography, I passed by the massive Amir Temur square. Temur, also referred to as Tamerlane, was a 14th century military campaigner who was born in today's Uzbekistan. No matter where you turn in this country, you will see a statue, park, museum, street, or even person named after him. More about him in a later post. Next to the park stood the Uzbekistan Hotel (pic 2), which looked like it once was the most modern Hotel in Central Asia — once. Next to some large, representative buildings, down a street, stood the photo gallery. Though not exclusively filled with photgraphy, I was pleasantly surprised by the good selection of enspiring artwork portraying Tashkent in the Soviet Era and also showing the current daily lives of people; insights, that one would maybe not grasp just by looking around (pic 3 and story).
