Last night, the second night of #bigsoundfestival2022 again delivered another superb evening of quality acts. The highly entertaining sets we caught were @jacotene @waxflowermusic @teenagedads @bumpymusic_ @adam_newling @therionsband and @theterrysband #livemusic All the sets were brilliant. I’ll have to make a special mention however of Jacoténe. She won this year’s #triplejunearthedhigh competition and is clearly destined for greatness. When she’s playing to massive sold-out arenas in the future, we’ll be able to say we saw her in the early days at #theblackbearlodge. A personal highlight of the evening was bumping into the members of @pressclubmusic (I maintain one of the best live acts you’ll see), who were so generous and accommodating with their time to allow a couple of punters to interrupt their evening for a fan pic, and then for @nat_foster_ to be even more generous with her time and to discuss the current state of the Brisbane music scene and the upgrades to #thezoo. We are extremely proud of CCC Year 11 student, Kane, who is a member of the band, Sunsick Daisy. Kane and his three bandmates were finalists in the Triple J Unearthed High competition with their song, Someone Like You. To enter Unearthed High, teens from around the country submit an original track which is then listened to by the team at Triple J. Over the years, Unearthed High has seen some of Australia's iconic artists enter the annual competition, including The Kid Laroi. Kane had the following to say about his experience: In the April school holidays of 2021, I attended a song writing workshop that Music SA were holding, where musicians come together and write songs to perform at the end of three days. After the workshop our group decided that we really 'clicked' and decided to form a band. Since then, we’ve played quite a number of shows and have even played with some of our idols. We entered Triple J Unearthed High because we wanted to release our song so people could hear our music and had been inspired by our friends, Teenage Joans, who won in 2020. We didn’t expect to get as far as being finalists and it felt very surreal at first. It was hard to come to terms with until it finally hit me in the middle of a radio interview, when I realised, “Hey, this is real!” I’d like to thank everyone for their support. #triplejunearthedhigh
