I got DM'd this screenshot from Reddit and it was triggering. The sad reality of gyms that charge you £££s and promise you the body of your dreams. But what do you actually get? An ego-driven atmosphere… Wasted time from waiting… Crowds of people that leave you externally focused. And if you're not internally focused on your body to practice perfect technique… Placing your mind inside the muscle you are targeting (mind-muscle connection)… Then you won't see any changes in your body week to week, month to month. I know... Even as a fitness coach I was stuck there for years. I practically lived in a gym spinning my wheels not realising how little I was progressing. Never mindfully connecting to my body and gaining any of the mental well-being benefits. I'd always leave frustrated because I was externally focused. Then I grew more and more demotivated as my body never changed. I stuck it out because all the *fitness gurus* ('juiced up influencers') made it look like a gym was the only way to transform my body. I believed there was not other way. But not now. Because I realised the most important element to building lean muscle and transforming your body… In order to see any kind of progress you need to keep your muscles under CONSTANT TENSION. That’s all the muscle knows. And there are better ways to do it than holding dumbbells in a gym. Es ist immer spannend, mal ein neues Fitnessgerät zu testen, selbst wenn man denkt, dass man schon alles gesehen hat. Ich habe mir vor kurzem den Lidl Slingtrainer zugelegt, obwohl ich schon lange ein Fan des TRX Suspension Trainers bin. Ich war wirklich neugierig, wie sich der Slingtrainer von Lidl im Vergleich anfühlt.⁠ ⁠ Zwar ist der Lidl Slingtrainer kein "neues" Gerät für mich (Slingtrainer ist schließlich Slingtrainer und das was man damit machen kann ist das Gleiche). Struggling to build muscle with your TRX? Here's why... So, you’re pulling-pushing-hanging but never seeing any changes in the mirror week to week. You’ve tried Youtube vids... Apps... workout plans... figuring it all out yourself… But, your body still looks the same. And you feel like throwing the TRX in the cupboard because you believe you can’t build muscle with it. ⛔️ Here’s your problem... You’re using a TRX with ‘Movement-Centric Technique’ Which is only good for working up a sweat. Walking, running, or an aerobics class are forms of Movement-Centric Technique.' You mindlessly moving from this position to that... Not thinking about how you're moving, just moving. The problem with ‘Movement-Centric Technique' is that the load is shared across multiple muscles. It’s great efficiency by the body. But, it’s useless for building lean muscle and transforming your body. Because a shared load means the challenge placed upon each muscle isn’t enough to stimulate a growth response. For example... when you do a TRX Chest Press, you're mindlessly just pressing up and down. Your chest is the target muscle. But other muscles are helping out and sharing the load. Such as your triceps, front shoulders, and biceps. You’re not isolating the individual chest muscle with the right technique to place the majority of the load onto it. So you get a minimal muscle growth stimulus. And your body shape stays the same week to week. ✅ Here’s your solution... You need to use a TRX with 'Muscle-Centric Technique' Isolating the muscle you want to target and not allowing other muscles to help out. And using slow, controlled movement, with your mind-muscle connection to squeeze the muscle powerfully. This means that the majority of the load goes onto the muscle you are targeting. So you get a powerful muscle growth stimulus. Which means you build lean muscle definition all over your body. And more lean muscle gained, means you’ll burn more fat. Years ago... every day in the gym I saw people: 😖 Struggle to make PT sessions 😖 Feel intimidated by the environment 😖 Regard the gym as ‘a chore’ not enjoyment. Becuase of this, their results were limited. But they believed there was no other way. Feel familiar? Look, I get it. I used to believe: 🏋️‍♀️ I had to use a gym to build muscle and transform my body 🏋️‍♀️ I had to lift heavier than I could handle 🏋️‍♀️ I had to do this daily Which meant I: 😖 Was always injured 😖 Prioritised a gym before friends and family 😖 Became hyper reliant on needing to use a gym to 'feel myself' It makes sense. I mean, scroll around. If you can go 3 scrolls without a 'gym bro / gym gal' vid popping up... I'll eat my sock. This environment leads to conditioning.
