We always hear talk about a calorie deficit or a calorie surplus, but let’s talk about what actual maintenance calories are, this phase is where an individual has achieved their desired physique and muscle mass, and is now focused on maintaining that level of development (hence my progress pics looking very similar). This stage is crucial, as it requires a delicate balance of nutrition, training, and recovery to prevent muscle loss and plateaus. During maintenance, you typically adjust your calories to ensure that you’re consuming the necessary calories and macronutrients to support muscle growth and recovery, while also avoiding excessive caloric intake that could lead to fat gain. Why have I sold my hyrox London ticket? I think we can all be guilty of doing things we don’t need to be doing because of the pressure from outside, so it’s progress to be able to walk away prioritise what’s important and focus on that. Over the last few weeks in training I’ve felt no urgency or motivation when it comes to the hyrox style WODS I’ve had planned, so I think it’s sensible to listen to that. Other than being able to come on social media after and say how great it is to have done it after 46 runs, I see no purpose or value in it. Im Hochleistungssport wird nicht gefragt, welcher Tag heute ist - da wird trainiert! 💪🏻🔥 Du trainierst Samstags & oft auch Sonntags, Du nutzt die Feiertage. Verlängerte WoEnden für Ausflüge werden “auf ein anderes mal” verschoben. An Ostern steht oft ein Trainingslager an, Dein Geburtstag ist auch fast egal. Du darfst feiern, aber nur wenn Du vorher trainiert hast und am nächsten Tag wieder fit und belastbar bist - oder eben am Ende der Saison. Kommunion, Hochzeiten, Familienfeiern kannst Du mitmachen - wenn es mit dem Training zusammen passt. Die Wettkämpfe fallen oft auf ein Wochenende oder auf einen Feiertag. Da heißt es top fit, ausgeruht und hochkonzentriert zu sein. Deswegen trainierst Du die Tage davor auch, aber etwas lockerer. Wenn andere Urlaub machen, bist Du oft mitten in der Saison. Ski fahren passt überhaupt nicht in die Saison. Da sind Wettkämpfe und Ski fahren ist eine absolute kontraproduktive Belastung für Deinen Körper, wenn Du Dich auf Schnellkraft und maximale Sprintfähigkeit konzentriert hast. An Weihnachten bekommst Du frei, aber nicht alle Tage. Zuhause kannst Du auch 1-2 Trainingseinheiten absolvieren. Braten, Knödel, Aufläufe kannst Du essen, aber die Plätzchen und den Stollen überlässt Du lieber den anderen! Highlights from the best push session I’ve had in a long time last Friday!! 🙂🦾 - Took 72.5kg on the @cybexuk high incline smith machine press for 5 which is up 2.5kg and down only 1 but with much better form. Was only expecting 3 so to get 5 is a massive win! - Took 32.5kg on the @gymleco_uk chest press for 9 which is up 2kg a side and matched reps! - Gym got new cuffs so I can finally nail the form on these Y raises - Wanted to show my 2 top sets on the @panattaofficial SA lateral raises that show the form difference between the heavier set and the back off. 2 trophies in a week! In a must win match to win the League, Cam dropped a 3 Goals + 2 Assists performance to help his club clinch it 🏆 All after scoring another in a Cup Final win for school on Tuesday 🏆 It's awesome to see players who have been working hard in training flourishing in matches - it means Cam has scored 8 goals in three games - all being must win games. It feels extra special knowing that a lot of what we've been working on with different types of finishing and the consistency of it has contributed towards his performances. As it got into the crunch point of the season we lessened the physical load of his sessions and really upped the technical demand, and boy has he delivered when it mattered.
