It’s my Fannyversary! 2 years ago today, I made my Fanny debut in Funny Girl on BROADWAY!!! I know I’m supposed to say slime tutorials=bad but I’m so grateful someone captured that night because I basically entered a fugue state and recall none of it. I do remember having my put-in rehearsal earlier that day (some of my costumes had not even arrived from the shop, they were still being made), injuring my rotator cuff in rehearsal the day prior & being unable to move my right arm (thank u cortisone!), feeling utterly supported by the whole company — particularly @actorjjames who had made his Nick Arnstein debut the night before (and graciously made it look like his fault instead of mine when I blanked & skipped a line of “who are you now” 😬) & star dresser @ljbehlmann who talked me through every change and threw me out onstage when necessary. So crazy to see these brief snippets of a moment which kicked off a truly once-in-lifetime journey… the 1st of 183 performances as Fanny! Simultaneously the culmination of 15 years working as a professional actor and the beginning of a totally new path. The last 2 years have been an exhausting & fulfilling whirlwind… and things are only about to CRAZIER. So… Saturday was weird . . I missed the mat to go see Orlando at signature and IT WASN’T EVEN GOOD- I will never forgive myself. . Any other company would have cancelled their show but in true cornley fashion they pushed forward at all costs. Sid made his debut as Robert the day before, Trevor stepped into a role he hasn’t preformed in months, both Caroline and Laura were thrown into the fray that night, and Brandon literally booked it across the city to save the show.
