Here on the Mediterranean I have a flamboyant, courageous little visitor, his eye watching me all the same, attentively. ~ In American tradition, finches are generally associated with celebration and joy, an omen of good things to come 😊 ~ Goldfinches especially are connected with light and sanctity, early renaissance paintings often depicted the Goldfinch with the Madonna and child. Head in the clouds...☁️ So, like I was saying, about the cold weekend. I think everywhere was pretty hot, saturday evening was even too hot and the sunset was sandy yellow with the southern wind bringing up the Sahara sand. But on sunday, Cap Sicié had her head in the clouds with an easterly wind blowing. So off we went and in the clouds it really was cold ! 18 degrees for sure, I even got a sore throat. Their Devotage Inspire 2017 is a robust, layered blend of 65% Marselan (a crossing of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache) and 35% Malbec that sees eight months of aging in French oak and shows notes of cassis, black plum, raspberry, and Mediterranean herbs, with well-defined tannins and a food-friendly acidity.
