Really lucky to have a chance to play with these amazing musicians for the broadway national tour “Company” at Providence Performing Arts Center🎭 I was able to see the stage from the pit, so it was an amazing experience to see those terrific actors performing everyday. Have a great rest of the run! 🇺🇸 (It was like wow…to see this “DRIVE THRU” sign everyday on the way to the theater🫣) “Company”のブロードウェイ全米ツアーのプロビデンス公演に参加させて頂きました。大抵リズムセクションはツアーミュージシャン、弦管は各地のローカルミュージシャンを使うというのがこういったツアーでよくある契約みたいで、旅の始まりでない限り今回のような中間地点ではリハーサルは公演当日に3,4時間の確認程度。舞台も当日に設営のため朝から昼過ぎまでロビーでオケリハ、2,3時間休憩、ピットに移動して1時間ほどサウンドチェック、その1時間後には本番1公演目、というなかなかスリリングな初日。事前に指揮者カメラの映像が送られてくるのでそれで練習をする事が出来ますが、実際に生で人と演奏すると聴こえる情報が圧倒的に多くなる＋イヤーモニターに慣れるのに私は毎回時間がかかるので痺れる経験でしたが、素晴らしいミュージシャンと毎日演奏出来て、今回はピットからステージが見える場所だったので毎回役者さんの圧倒的なパフォーマンスに笑ったり感動したりと、楽しい時間でした🙏🏻 (毎日通る道にある看板が私にはなかなか衝撃的でした🫣) #company #sondheim #broadway #broadwaymusical #orchestrapit #pit #musician #woodwind #clarinet #tenorsax #カンパニー #ソンドハイム #ブロードウェイ #ミュージカル #ピット #木管楽器 #サックス #クラリネット #プロビデンス

Back at the reed desk tonight! I didn't take a single picture while I was in St. Paul but had a great time subbing with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and playing next to Norbert Nielubowski. I also got a chance to meet up with a few new bassoon friends in the area, including the former principal bassoonist in the Minnesota Opera! Even though I didn't have a busy orchestra schedule since I only played on the second half of the program, the trip still felt very packed because I was also touring houses with our realtor and touring preschools for Oliver. We didn't find a good fit for either on this trip but hoping we'll figure out both in the next two months!! Carolyn Christie retired from the flute section of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra ( MSO ) in 2014, after a 36 year tenure. With the MSO, Christie recorded close to 100 cd’s and toured North America, South America, Asia, and Europe many times, including dozens of performances in Carnegie Hall. Christie appeared as a soloist with the MSO on several occasions, and was honoured to have the orchestral work Passacaglia by Neal Gripp dedicated to her in celebration of her contribution to the orchestra. Christie was an Associate Professor at McGill University from 1982 until 2023, a flute instructor at the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and Domaine Forget, and is now teaching flute exclusively at the University of Ottawa. Many of Christie’s former students are members of major orchestras in the USA, Canada, and Europe. Carolyn Christie’s master’s degree in Human Kinetics ( 2016, University of Ottawa ) lead her to obtain expert skills in mental performance excellence coaching, work she has incorporated into her teaching. In the same way many Olympic level athletes work with mental performance coaches, musicians now work with Christie in order to learn techniques that can help them to perform as well on stage as they do in their practice rooms. She has developed a series of workshops, which she has presented at The Curtis Institute of Music, Duquesne University, and at most major universities and Conservatoires across Canada. Her work now centres on personal counselling sessions geared toward musicians of all ages and abilities, including her expert peers. 🚨DEAL: 2499 for an overhauled Yamaha 62 Purple Logo TENOR all new pads The 62 Purple Logo is one of those rare horns from the 1970s that really does do everything well. It tunes great, feels really comfortable under the fingers, and just responds effortlessly. This particular example could hardly be nicer. It’s in excellent condition with no major damage. It sounds great and way more complex sounding than a modern Yamaha.
