When did you get your idea for your WIP?

My WIP is a bunch of random ideas I've gotten over the years, all squished into one story. Each of my characters came to me in different ways at different times. But the main theme and story came to me a few years back when I was watching a movie.

I don't remember when this was or even what movie. All I remember was the character (possibly a vampire?) saying something like, "Immortality is not always a gift. Sometimes it's a curse." And that one little quote got me wondering what a character would be like if he was immortal but wanted to die. How did he become immortal? Why does he want his life to end now? And thus, Loka my cursed warrior was born. Because even though I have 6 MC's, it's really Loka's story.
